Sometimes, I tend to imagine Double Diamond as Shadowfax, and sometimes as a sort of an equine Gandalf, due to his white fur. Here he is, stopping Balrek (Balrog Tirek) from crossing the bridge of Khazad-dum so his friends can advance on their journey.
