Dear Celestia,
Today, I was confronted with one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. Years ago, I was bullied and belittled by a colt who punched me in the stomach. Instead of helping me up, everyone around laughed and cheered him on. I remember that was one of the reasons why I worked out: the get so strong that no one would bully me ever again. I went on a long hike and met up with an old friend of mine, Tree Hugger. She gave me a quote that I wrote down on the front of my journal. I wanted to share it with you:“We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let the soften us, and make us kinder. You always have the choice.” – Dolly Llama. What I took away from this was to eventually let go of what was holding me down and eventually find peace in life. Well, no more than a couple of hours later, I bumped into him while doing an errand for Twilight. This is where I made the hardest decision: I forgave him right to his face. I decided I couldn’t let what he did years ago drag me down. I know ponies can change, and he felt remorse for what he did, so either I could’ve stayed angry at him, or I could’ve let it go. Today I learned to forgive, even when it seems impossible. Holding onto anger and negative feelings will do nothing but harm me in the long run.
Signed, Fluttershy.
