I originally had about two lengthy paragraphs explaining how this sketch came to be and the feelings behind it. But, I'll spare you all the melodrama. After all, were all here to look and be amazed by pretty pictures, right? Well, if that's the case, why are you here then? XD

Anyway, I'll give you the abridged version. There are times that we may feel as though our best efforts are never enough, that all the time and energy, dedication and study we put towards achieving our dreams and aspirations ultimately result in no progress at all. Face with this outcome time and again, one can only take some much before they break. Tears shed, self-pity engulfs you and your mind slowly warms to the thought of giving up. But something stops you from taking that disastrous leap. Your mind clears, you wipe away those tears and you can't help but smile. You only lose if you quit. Perhaps you won't ever reach your goals. But be damned if you aren't going to try!

Truth be told, any character could be seen in this sort of mindset at some point, feelings of self-doubt and whatnot. So, why did I choose RD for this one? I don't know, honestly. Just turned out that way. At least I got the chance to practice drawing wings more! Well, sort of

Yeah…I'm sure this was a bit much for such a simple sketch, but I guess I got carried away (and I still haven't slept yet). Sorry.

Sorry that this one's on the lighter side. No matter what I did with it, I just couldn't get it any darker without making it look even worse. Regardless, I do hope to color this at some point. Hopefully.
