- Daffodil is the fourth-born daughter of Big McIntosh and Fluttershy and the fraternal twin sister to Gala Cream. The twins were born shortly after Berry Patch received her cutie mark. Daffy was born 15 minutes after her sister.

- Being than yin to Gala's yang, ever since they were infants Daffodil has always been loud and borderline obnoxious, the complete opposite of her family. She didn't start out that way though—her parents believe she's just acting out not being able to cope with the loss of her great-grandmother Granny Smith. Daffodil is more often than not the one to speak up in defense and say how she really feels about a situation since her family tends to be be too shy/polite to say it.

- Daffodil spends most of her school days tormenting the schoolyard bully Sugar, defending the honor of her sister and the other school foals she berates constantly. Although her destiny is with tending to flowers, Daffodil aspires to be a professional wrestler. She admires the now-retired Cherry Blossom and wants to be just like her when she grows up
