I woke up to a ton of really nice messages about Slice! sorry for not responding to most of them, I’m kinda having trouble articulating replies at the moment…I think it’s gonna be a while before I can really talk about it emotionally again, but I am reading and appreciating everything you guys are saying. this has been less painful than I was anticipating and you all are the main reason for that. 💝
in the meantime like five people immediately asked for more Powder, so here she is as a baby for extra-cuteness (plus her dad ‘cause I don’t think I’ve drawn him before, and he was still around at this point). I promise I’m not gonna start spamming Slice or anything, but it’s just kinda easier for me to express myself through silly pony drawings right now. (still feels sorta weird drawing them again, but…it’s getting easier!)
bonus — Powder mostly takes after her mom, but her hair does weird things in certain weather:
honestly I’m so happy a lot of people loved Powder, she was always one of my favorite early ponies and one of the first ones I knew I had to include. :> she wasn’t initially going to be a friend of the twins (she was supposed to be a contrast to Gusty…) but she balanced them out really nicely; they kind of needed somepony more reserved after I gave them Clipper the Pumpkin-Enabler. and Slice was a bit of an experiment in writing child-friendly fiction (didn’t take all those classes in children’s media for nothing!) so it was important to me to have a very shy, awkward character with good friends who didn’t try to change her or pressure her into being more like them. I always liked that about Fluttershy and I wanted to do something similar! :B
tl;dr thank you for liking the little snow-pony ❄️
bonus bonus:
#this is the powder appreciation post apparently,
#'powder' stops looking like a real word very quickly,
#(her dad is boysenberry pie btw)
