A colt woke up in a dark and misty place. It was chilly, like a night on the streets in spring, but deeper. It was less of a chill on the surface and more like a chill that dug deep into you body and reached for your soul. Shivering, the colt got to his hooves and tried to find some shelter. He was confused as to how he'd gone from sleeping under a bridge to this place but this wasn't the first time he'd woken up in strange places. At least he was alone this time.
"Hello?" He called out, listening as his voice echoed through the empty space. He couldn't see any walls or ceiling so he must be outside but he couldn't see too far. He tried to light his horn but the chill seemed to swirl around him, forcing him to curl up and cease his actions. Just as the cold seemed to be reaching his core, he heard something.
The clip clop of hooves.
Still curled up, he listened out for the source. It was rhythmic, not the standard trot of a pony but more musical, as if the pony was making a beat.
"Who's there?!" He called out, his breath showing in front of his muzzle. The trot stopped for a seocnd before continueing, this time in his direction. The colt had long since learned to determine the distance and pace of pony from their hoof steps, so he knew the pony was light, possibly a mare and closing in fast. Just before the pony came into sight, he heard her talking.
"Oo, Ee, Oo Ah ah, ting tang walla walla bing bang! Oo Ee! Oo Ah ah, ting tang walla walla!". "Oh, by the way, you have a name, little one?
…The pony was… singing. Great, maybe it was another crazy pony.
"-Bing bang!" He finished, deciding crazy was better than being alone. The trot slowed down before a deep but harmonious laughter erupted from the air. A weird looking mare emerged from the missed, her dreads swinging from side to side.
"My oh me oh my, what do we have here? A lost wittle colt in need of help?" She asked, fangs glinting in the dim light. The Colt was wary. Crazy might be fine but dangerous was definitely not.
"I don't need your help!" He stood up and took a step back. It was still cold but not as much as before. The mare continued to smile serenely and cocked her head to the side.
"But you are lost."
"…" The colt said nothing, glaring at her as she stared back. Suddenly, she let out a laugh and about faced. She took a few steps and looked back at him.
"Perhaps you are willing to follow me?" She offered. The colt scowled.
"And why should I follow some freaky looking mare like you?" He demanded, though he was tempted to follow anyway. For whatever reason, the cold seemed to drift away when he was close to her. Just the few steps she took invited the chill again until he he barely keep himself from shivering. The mare smiled again, this time purely out of joy.
"Because you can see me. And hear me!" She said, trotting in place with excitement. The colt stared at the mare, confused by her words. What was she
The colt stared at her for second before trotting forward. Immediately, the chill went away and as he drew close, he almost felt warm. He shook his head, looking away from the mare with slight embarrassment.
"No, but the other foals sometimes call me 'boss' or 'Sky'." He muttered, not liking the subject. Not having a name was not a fun topic for anyone.
"'Sky'? Oh yes, with colors like the setting sun, you most certainly do deserve the name sky." She replied, seeming to come to some kind of conclusion on her own. "Anyway, come with me, Child of the Sky. We have much to do before the mist decides to release you."

So for those who have been with me for a while, you will know about the infamous, WiTcH DoCtOr that Hazy always talks about. The one that other are convinced is a figment of his imagination. For those who aren't familiar with her, she is a pony Hazy claims is "invisible to everyone's eyes and her voice mimic's the wind so only those who listen close can sense her'. Most folks he tells this to think he's crazy.
Well here she is in all her non-imagined glory. This is their first meeting and WD is just so happy to have company while Hazy (before he gets his name) is just confused. They become close as she teaches him all that she knows while he keeps her company. As you can imagine, she's a bit Coo-coo but who wouldn't be after over a thousand years locked away in mist?
Factoid:
- Hazy was born in a small village on the outskirts of the badlands, so there was little to know authority there. Translation: it was a shitty place to live. Hazy, like many foals were nameless for most of their lives until he met WD. He was later adopted by Twilight when she and Sirius had to live in that village for… reasons.
Note: WD is actually a super old adopt I had lying around my folder for almost a year. I'm glad I finally get to use her. Special thanks to sketchside-daggo, who might not be on DA anymore.
