Nickname(s): Disco, Hot stuff (Only at parties, by strangers. He finds it very strange, as his body temperature is normal, and his coloration isn't fire-themed)
Species/Gender: Mule (Pegasus-Donkey)/Male
Mark/Talent: A disco-ball and glowsticks, represeting his talen for parties and being in the spotlight. Not planning parties, just being at parties; everything from dancing to how to control the flow of the interactions to suit his needs.
Personality: Extremely good-natured and laid back. It's almost impossible to get him in a bad mood, everything just rolls of his back. Sort of irresponsible, but very kind.
Important relationships:
Pinkie Pie (Mother) — Very close, since they share many interests, and Disco perhaps being one of the few people who don't find going to parties with his mom embarrassing. It has become a bit more strained recently though, as Pinkie wishes he would do something more with his life, rather than just partying.
Kinyume (Best Friend) — Met in first grade of Ponyville elementary, where Disco got so excited to meet another pony hybrid, he decided they were now best friends. Has remained to ever since.

History:
One time, everyone suddenly got an invitation to a party sent by Pinkie Pie; it didn't say what it was for, but considering she once threw a party celebrating that her mail-order glitter balloons had arrived, they didn't think much of it. It was a foal-shower. For herself. Much panicking over not having bought gifts ensued, until Pinkie revealed it to be a joke. The party that is, the baby was very real, and they had a new foal-shower a few days later.

But when Disco was born another shock came, in the form of his species. Disco was obviously a mule, so everyone assumed the father had to be a donkey, but … half-pegasus. The Pie-family hasn't ever had any pegasi in it, as far as anyone knows, so there's nowhere for those genes to come from. Pinkie explained it as the dad being a pegaus-mule, which most scoffed at, since everyone knows male mules can't have children. Very very rarely, female mules have had foals, but never male mules, it's impossible. Those who knew Pinkie mostly went "Yeah, that sounds about right."

Disco grew up in ponyville, and had a suprisingly stable childhood, considering how …spontaneous Pinkie can appear. But Pinkie takes her responsibility as a mom very seriously, and tried to make sure Disco was as well cared for as possible. She tried to introduce him to Kinyume when they were toddlers, so that he could have another half-pony to relate to, but it didn't go well as they instead bit and kicked each other. Now they were just toddlers, but Pinkie decided it was best not to risk anything, and didn't bring Disco when visiting Zecora again.

She didn't need worry though, as they met again in first class, and became instant friends. Mostly because Disco insisted. He really liked her, because she always said what she felt instead of pretending to not be annoyed or scared. Which really helped him in learning how to interact around other ponies who didn't say these things out loud.

As they grew older Kinyume became a lot more reserved and stared to act cold towards everything, even Disco. At this point though, Disco knows her well enough that he can see through her facade and they remain close friends.

Currently, Disco lives… nowhere. He's technically registered as living with Kinyume, but he almost never stays there. Instead he spends his time sleeping on varoius couches and eating food given to him by others. He seems to know and is on friendly terms with practically everyone, so there's no shortage of couches of free food. And he knows just who to ask for a place to crash; he never comes knocking one someones door if they don't want or can't help him. It's almost as if he has a sixth sense telling him who to ask. But he's not just using his friends for free stuff, nono, he always pays them back. Just not with money.

When he's not "hanging out" with friends, he's partying. He loves to go to parties, especially raves and discos due to their light shows. And since he knows so many ponies he has no problem getting invited to said parties. Where he promptly meets and befriends even more ponies, and becomes even more popular; he's now getting invited to more parties than he can go to. It's gotten to the point where he's started to get offered payment in return of showing up, just so that the host could brag about him being there. So they way he pays his friends back for the food and couches, is by making sure they get invited to the parties they want to go to/he feels they should go to. More than one person has just happend across someone they really needed to meet (A business opportunity, a soulmate, amazing new friends) at parties Disco insisted they go to.


Trivia:
Disco has his own version of the "Pinkie Sense" which he calls the "Disco Detector". However, unlike Pinkie Sense which can give warnings about any number of things, Disco Detector can only tell him one thing: if a person or creature currently wants him around. He uses this to make sure to not bother his friends when they don't want to be bothered, and to seek them out when they do.

Disco and Pinkie are the only ones who knows who is father is. But they both refuse to tell anyone else.

Has a pet rock named Bortholomew given to him by aunt Maud, which he keeps in his mane.

Used to have a huge crush on Kinyume when they were younger, but he got over it when he realised their personalities really weren't compatible for that kind of relationship. Much prefers her as a friend nowadays.

Strangers calling him "Hot stuff" when he's dancing is the reason he chose "Inferno" as a second name. At least then he could pretend to understand why they called him that.

Due to his donkey-genes, he was very big with long legs compared to pony foals. This made giving birth to him very difficult and dangerous for Pinkie Pie, so he was brought into the world via c-section.
(My headcanon is that mlp donkey-foals look a lot more like actual donkey-foals, with more adult-like proportions. Unlike mlp pony-foals which seem to be a lot more human-baby-like. I headcanon this because of how much more similar mlp donkeys are to real donkeys, compared to the ponies.)
