The captian, who was very healthy,
A fat chick and round,
she had cheeks red and fresh;
She ate the soup nicely at the table.
But once she started screaming:
"I do not eat soup! No!
No, I do not eat my soup!

Bye next day, — just look!
She was already a lot thinner.
Then she started screaming again:
"I do not eat soup! No!
I do not eat my soup!
No, I do not eat my soup!

On the day after, oh and ah!
How is the captian thin and weak!
But when the soup came in,
Immediately she started crying again:
"I do not eat soup! No!
I do not eat my soup!
No, I do not eat my soup!

Finally, at least four days have passed
The captian was like a thread.
She probably weighed half a plumb-
And was dead in about fifteen days.



You just have to love the classic german children stories. So much death and maim (1845, for the age of 6)
