Penumbra is the son of Dark and Bright Quartz, he is a bit of a book worm. While he does love his father, he is not very fond of him and has a hard time relating to him due to Dark's polygamy lifestyle is odd and really weird to him. He looks up to his baby sitter who is Midnight Moon in disguise and she teaches him the secrets of magic. He is really close with his sister Aqua Aura and can communicate with her privately via telepathy in secret no matter how far away
