Friendship is tough…
I'll be honest, when I watched 'Wonderbolts Academy' I felt pretty bad for Lightning Dust near the end. Sure, she was mean, inconsiderate and had done some wrong things that nearly got everypony killed…but it could have had an ending that didn't leave most of us bronies and MLP fans with bitter feelings.
Not only do I feel total sympathy for that striking golden-haired pegasus, I also feel bad for the situation Rainbow Dash had been trapped in. And although she did the right thing…she lost a friend because of it. And let's be honest that in reality we had experienced this sort of thing some point in our lives.
I don't want to call Lightning Dust a bad pony, and I think she would have made an excellent Wonderbolt if she wasn't so competitive and harsh…she's like Rainbow Dash only 20% more egotistic. She may have mostly been seen as just some annoying rival to Rainbow Dash, but competitive natures aside, they did seem to have such a good time together before that all ended. But other than that, I really hope we see her again in the series, because, like Trixie and Discord, she could somewhat reform.
Anyone remember Gilda? Yeah, I really hope we see HER again as well, because it was REALLY sad how her friendship with Rainbow Dash had ended in "Griffon the Brush-Off". She could have changed for the better in that one episode, but I guess we'll just have to keep waiting for that 'reform episode'.
And anyone who recalls my MLP FIM and Robot and Monster crossover comics 'Honest Words' [link] and 'Best is All' [link], some would consider Rainbow Dash and Ogo quite the crossover duo in terms of playful banter about shows like Littlest Pet Shop and breaking the fourth wall.
Well, for any RnM fan, Ogo is much more than this clingy, desperate stalker who really wants friends, he's a sweetheart who can be quite sensitive and empathetic even to others, which is why I thought he would be BEST CHARACTER to comfort Lightning Dust of her loss because of her huge ego and selfish mistakes and encourage her to keep going and not let the past repeat itself, possibly insisting another episode featuring her in a more positive light and she makes up for the wrong she had done.
Talk about a true, true friend.
EDIT OF DIALOGUE: I'd like to give credit to my good friend , for her critique in regards to my original dialogue and how it contradicted to what exactly my summary was suppose to expresses about Lightning Dust hopefully 'redeeming' herself. We had discussed at school and she pointed me at the best route, and I thank her for that because even I seemed a little questionable on my piece before having edited it. And I especially like to thank for being helpful in suggesting the right kind of dialogue that would actually fit the entire image itself and completely relates to a 'considerably bad character hopefully never going to repeat the same mistakes again' vibe. Thanks, guys.
