The sun beat down hard on the two mares out in the open, a silver unicorn freely trotting through an open green field as she was catching up to a small brown mare. Who was panting like a dog from the laps she had already run throughout the day, they both had been out all day in the summer sun which made a lot of local’s curse Celestia for the dreadful heat. Opal had suggested going out and training as Whiplash had been bothering her for days for a full day of training her stamina and speed. She wanted, needed to catch up to the flying pagasi, it was her goal and she was going to achieve it no matter how much physical pain she had to go through. Originally, Opal had raised an eyebrow at the idea but after a while agreed, proud of her ambition but not seeing the harm it was really doing the wanted Pegasus. At this moment, Whip was struggling to breath, her lungs felt as though they became enflamed but kept pushing herself forwards. Slowly her vision was getting hazy but she didn’t think about it, or anything at all. Opal caught up to her gradually slower pace and blew her whistle which took the wanting Pegasus out of her thoughts and flinched a the high shriek of the silver tool.“C’mon, you asked for this, 3 more laps and we can call a break!” Opal’s voice rang through her head as the unicorn went back to the waiting spot, making herself known. Whip’s legs were wearing down, aching and nearly numb while her throat was dry, desperately needing water which Opal had, it drew her on.After she had managed her laps, coming up to Opal, she collapsed onto the hill, breathing heavily to catch her breath as if she was drowning, Opal rushed over with water, passing it to her and helping the aching Whiplash drink it as she gave a worried look.“I think your pushing yourself too hard with these training courses.” She stood up and moved her lion like mane out of her face while Whip closed her eyes enjoying the fresh water down her throat whilst going back to her ambition.“I need to keep going, I need to be faster, stronger” her voice was quiet due to her exhaustion. Opal sighed and shook her head. “If you say so, but you’ll work yourself to death if you keep doing this. What I’m asking is if you’d loosen up a bit, take a few days break.” Her voice was soft, Whip was about to disagree, looking up at Opal but though if she couldn’t train with Opal, then she’d train in secret. The mare nodded to the other as Opal gave a warm smile. “Right then, how about we get something to eat, my treat for being such a great trainer” Opal giggled while Whip rolled her eyes and elbowed her playfully, standing up, the both of them leaving for food.

Some development on Whiplash, shes really determined to show how strong she in and how fast she can be, wanting to live up to the standards of her dad, since they never managed to have a Pegasus child to raise to become a wonderbolt. Opal's just a mom friend and wants to help her friend but shes slowly realising how such damage Whip is pushing herself through.
