“Careful now, Ah wouldn’t want ya to trip, ya big olfe.”
“ Nah, I wouldn’t dare drop something as precious as you are, Jacky. Why, when I’m with you, I’m as graceful a rodeo clown juggeling flaming sticks on a rolling log.”
“Pfft, it’s not the most romantic comparison, but ah reckon it’ll do.”

Let’s hear it for Ultimate Country Couple to ever walk the face of the earth!
These two aren’t my OTP, but I have a strong liking for them and their dynamic.
On to the juicy details of how their relationship came to be:
Things were going just fine for the Apple family, great even, with the added pleasure of a Big Mac’s relationship with Sugar Belle. When he moved to hitch up and settle down with Sugar Belle in her village, no one could have guessed that’s when trouble would start. With Big Mac gone, Apple Jack was placed in charge of leading the farm, the heavy duty work, and the what not. It wasn’t too hard at first, especially with Apple Bloom picking up the slack a bit more, but as the year rolled on, it began to take a toll an AJ.
By the end of two years, Apple Jack was as worn out as old leather. Her sister was too busy with school and cutie mark crusader stuff to be bothered with running the farm, and Granny was really beginning to slow down. Even with all the added stresses of single handedly managing the farm, she still had to deal with the loss of moral and emotional support from her brother 24/7. She had no one to turn to, and she needed help.
That’s where Trouble shoes came in. You see, Braeburn knew about his cousins struggles, and when Trouble confronted him about his own financial problems and needing more work than his rodeo career could provide, why, Braeburn just put two and two together. Even literally, it would seem.
AJ would normally refuse the idea of outside help, but desperate times call for desperate measures. There we’re many many accidents that Trouble shoes caused (funnily enough, they mostly happened when she was around), but on the whole he was quite the helpful and diligent worker. Of course, he couldn’t work for her all the time, he still had his rodeo clown career to think about. When the time came for Trouble shoes to leave, Apple jack found her self more upset about than she thought she’d be.
As all the great love poets say, absences makes the heart grow fonder; for AJ, that meant during his time away on stage, she came to find Trouble had done more to help her than even she realized. To make a long story short, it didn’t take them both long to admit their feelings and start a regular ole’ country courtship filled with a lot of broken door hinges and
plenty of laughter.
I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really do love this ship and plan to put some extra effort into showing their blossoming relationship in the future months ahead.
What I adore most is how they balance each other out so well, kinda like with Fluttercord. AJ’s so head strong and full of tough love, while he’s a quite laidback fellow with got a tough, strong body, but a soft and tender heart. AJs the one to gently push Trouble out of his shy and insecure shell, while for AJ, when she has reached her last straw, Trouble is the sturdy rock she falls back on to for comfort and strength.
Plus, I just have a sweet spot for the good ole, down to earth country couples! I’m sure a lot of the credit for their relationship is due to AJ being such a good guitar player.
Oh, and just to be clear, when Trouble ties the knot with AJ, he remaines on the farm with her to start a family and to take the burden she had been carrying for so long off of her. But everytime the annual rodeo rolls into town, both Trouble shoes and Apple Jack take their respective places in the show.
If you guys have any questions or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! In the meantime, be on the look out for their respective crotch-spawns!
