I drew this because my pet cat, Chrissy, passed away yesterday. I had to rush him to the vets on Wednesday night after he came home crying and his underside was all messed up. The vet said he was very swollen and his body temp was only 32 degrees Celsius (Normal is around 38). A couple of degrees lower and he would have died from hypothermia. They kept him overnight and called me the next morning to say they had to operate on him as he had 2 tears in his abdominal wall and his intestines were trying to escape out of them. They called later and said he made it through surgery. They noted that as they shaved him to be able to do the surgery, they noticed several fine puncture wounds which were consistent with more of a fox bite than a normal dog or cat bite. The vets said they had to keep him overnight to allow him to recover and that I would most likely be able to take him home the next day. It seemed like he was going to be fine but I got a call early Friday morning to say he had passed away overnight as his wound blew up and got infected.
I got him 8 years ago as a graduation present for graduating high school. He was a cat who liked to stay to himself but over the last year or so, he had been becoming much more affectionate towards me than what he used to be.
