So, I looked back at the old Macindash kids I made and they are just so … basic and boring. So I've redesigned Zapple, Crumble and Crunch to look more fitting.
I took inspiration from the parents this time around, since last time they just looked too much like Rainbow/Mac. (Mac) and (Dash) used to specify from which grandparent.
Zapple: Changed her birthmarks to be less obvious, so they no longer look like burns. They are now softer and more splotchy than having a pattern. Her wings are the same as her base colour with red marking accent on the feather tips. Made the hair shorter, and scrapped the full rainbow for a more pastel like one going through her mane. Darkened her eyes slightly to match her grandfathers'.
Apple Crunch: His fur has been lightened into a periwinkle-purple colour, his mane curled like his grandmother (Mac). Decided to add he red from his grandfather(Mac) as an accent colour, both shades have a slight gradient coming from Dash's family. He has cheek and nose freckles from Mac's parents. Changed the eye colour from plain pink to the addition of a yellow gradient from his grandfather(Dash). Kept the fetlocks like his grandfathers'.
Apple Crumble. Lightened her fur completely into a peach colour, simplified her mane gradient to match Zapples with the two other colours within her main. She has cheek and nose freckles from Mac's parents.
I think they look a lot more cohesive as family not instead of falling into the trap of making them look exactly like their parents. I haven't drawn ponies in so long XD but I think these look 100X better than the last time I'd drawn them, I hope any of you that still watch me for this stuff like them more too
