Here my next vector of my Holiday Pony Series.

It is carnival in a lot of catholic regions in the world. There are so many different carnival regions with different traditions (like Venice or Rio). I chose for the vector the carnival of my region, the Rhineland (which starts always on a thursday). The CMC represents the three most famous and important carnival characters from the carnival in Cologne (and also other cities and villages on Middle and Lower Rhine). Scootaloo is dressed as the Prinz (german for Prince, the ruler of a carnival season), Apple Bloom as the Bauer (german for farmer) and Sweetie Belle as the Jungfrau (german for maiden). Together, they portray the Dreigestirn (german for triple star). In Cologne, it is standart that the adult Dreigestirn is played only by men (even the Jungfrau except for two times while the Third Reich) while the children Dreigestirn is played by two boys (Prinz and Bauer) and a girl (Jungfrau). In other regions outside of Cologne, it can also happen that the Dreigestirn is only played by women. But the most villages and Cities on the other side has a Prinz and a Prinzessin (german for princess) instead of a Dreigestirn. I chose the CMC because I thought they fit into these roles. The highest day of the Rhineland Carnival is the carnival monday (called Rosenmontag) where big parades (called Karnevalsumzug) are in the biggest towns and villages of the region. Parades can be also on another days around the Rosenmontag. On the end of these Parades, the Prinz has his own chariot and throws candy to the costumed children on the side of the street. There are also another reagions in germany who have different traditions (like the Swabian-Alemannic Fastnacht in parts of southern germany)

For them who don't know it. Carnival (in germany Karneval oder Fastnacht) cames from latin carne vale and means "meat good bye". It is always on the weekend before the lenten period starts (which starts on ash wednesday and ends on easter).

When I was a child, I was a big Carnival fan. Nowadays, it is not really important for me anymore. However, I came to the conclusion to make a vector for this celebration because it is an important holiday in parts of germany and other regions of the world. So, do you celebrate carnival or something similar?

The Base for the vector was a screencap of the CMC from the episode "A Hearth's Warming Eve".
