Last but far from least I drew Mistmane at the GalaCon.
Ellen-Ray Hennessy, who voices her was just amazing. I think it is safe to say that she had many of us baffled in the most positive sense of the word. With her outgoing nature, her kindness and what I can only refer to as a "Positively playful Pinkie Pieish pony party passion" (everybrony say out that one aloud ten times as fast as you can ;)) she had us totally enchanted :D
At one point she came outside (where we were chalk drawing) to play apple bobbing with the bronies in her company. I was very sorry that at that time I was still working on the chalk drawing of Starlight and that in fact her character was the only one not yet represented in front of the forum. Rectifying that therefore became an absolute "must" for me.
The main challenge was that by the time I started drawing Mistmane dusk was already falling and by the time she was completed it was too dark to tell the colors of the light purple, green and white chalk pieces apart. It was for the kind help of helzg with a flashlight from his cellphone that I could complete Mistmane.
There are two little mistakes which I might have avoided had I been working in proper daylight. First, Mistmane's hooves should be lighter than the rest of her body with a soft gradient towards her fur color and secondly I'm afraid I set the hoof of her left hindleg in front of the hoof of her right frontleg which indeed would be an odd balancing act, even for an amazing unicorn sorceress like Mistmane But altogether I am happy with how she turned out and especially that I could later on show Ellen-Ray Hennessy the photos I had taken of her in the pub where she was celebrating with us because of course she was ;)
