Little three-or-so year old Prince Alistair, son of Princess Twilight Sparkle and King Thorax, meets his baby cousin Scutellum, daughter of Prince Pharynx and his wife Larynx. Little fella isn’t entirely sure what to make of her—his other cousins are an alicorn and a dragon/pony, he didn’t know you could have a changeling cousin! Well, he’ll get used to her—she really will be very important in his future

Side note, Pharynx is using they/them for Scutellum at the moment deliberately, my headcanon is that changelings are asexually reproducing critters who don’t have an assigned biological sex*. If they feel particularly like one gender or another it’s accepted for them to identify as such, though, and Scutellum will identify as female when she gets a little older

*Further headcanon that they can reproduce sexually if they choose to, they just normally don’t. A changeling monarch (like Thorax or Chrysalis) will regularly lay a clutch of dozens of eggs all by themselves to keep the hive going, so changeling drones reproducing at all isn’t a necessity, and if they reproduce sexually they’ll only lay one egg instead of a large clutch. So having a kid of your own isn’t a popular thing with changelings, lol, but hey sometimes you want to
