After the debacle which saw Blueblood disappear from public view, the tome that had given him the audacity to try and hold Canterlot to ransom went missing from the archives. After summoning the element bearers to debrief them on this matter the Princesses then found out where the magic book had gone. Canterlot now had two giant snobs to deal with and, having seen how Celestia dealt with Blueblood, they'd taken a couple of hostages before announcing their demands.

Jet Set and Upper Crust were positively frustrated by the more carefree attitude the most influential pones were adopting, particularly Fancypants. In response they concluded that using the magic Blueblood had first discovered would ensure that the Princesses would take their petition much more seriously than otherwise. Although there was some uncertainty in their minds once they realised just how big they'd grown.
