Bio:
Jupiter is a proud, pompous, and oftentimes stuck-up unicorn. Being the son of two incredibly powerful unicorns (oh, and one is Princess Twilight's graduate and the other is an internationally famous wizard) he's got quite a bit to live up to. Jupiter spends his nights staring through a telescope, scribbling neat notes in his journal. He has made quite a name for himself in the field of astronomy, namely, his study of the stars. This stallion is deeply intelligent, and has devoted a good majority of his life to his studies. Jupiter went to the same private school as Princess Dawn Star. There, he poured himself into strengthening his magic and his mind. He took a keen interest into the work of Princess Luna herself, fascinated by the stars she raises into the sky each night. He has a deep appreciation for the world beyond their own, the plants and stars that were so near, yet so far. And so powerful. Jupiter's trained himself to find fragments of fallen stars and other celestial bodies. He uses his knowledge in astronomy to identify which fragment came from which star. He's discovered a mere fraction of the power the stars themselves can hold. And he knows that they hold far more. Jupiter is ambitious, talented, and takes great pride in his work. Like Dawn, he comes from a pair of very prestigious and talented parents. So, he has a lot to live up to. He, too, is determined to make his mark on the world. However, the notion of such can make him seem a tad obsessed. He's going to leave his hoofprint on Equestria someday. He's going to help the world, and be held in the honor worthy of his parents. Because of such, it can take quite a bit of coaxing to get him to join in most festivities when he's studying (which is most of the time). Nonetheless, Jupiter does seem to appreciate the company of those around him, though some are on a mere "tolerate-only" level. He's incredibly close with Dawn Star. She's one of the few ponies he genuinely, deeply likes. They spent countless hours together, studying and talking about their various fields. Dawn is easy to talk to, and her own intelligence never fails to impress him (although he doesn't often admit it). They were often cast aside in their school as "nerds." But in all honesty, Jupiter didn't mind. It just meant that he could spent more time with the Princess. Seeing as how she's going to start studying to be a princess, and is going to be away all the time…
Relationships:
Jupiter Sky's parents adore him, and are incredibly proud of his accomplishments, and do take an interest in his studies. He and Sunburst easily connect over their love of scrolls and ancient literary works. He and Starlight are a slightly different story. Jupiter has always felt slightly intimidated by his mother's magical skill (often hailed as one of the most powerful non-alicorns to have lived yet). She sometimes fears for her son. She sees an ambition within him that is all-too-similar to her own, and finds herself frightened at times that he may go down a darker path than his friends. She has never told him about her past, and is determined that he never finds out. He will claim he has a close relationship with all six Equestria princesses, as well as all sorts of important delegates from all over the world. In all honesty, the royals find it a little funny whenever he walks through Canterlot Castle like he owns the place. He's overly formal in front of them, and tries desperately to act charming in front of Dawn Star's cousin, Flurry Heart. Twilight can recognize those signs of a pony getting a little over his head, but she has confidence in Starlight to lead him in the right direction. Jupiter doesn't attach well to other ponies, but he does have a few friends outside of Dawn. Athena can get on his nerves, but he does find her antics amusing at times. He's amicable with Jetstream and Tom (though they can often get annoying in their insistence that he lighten up). He has to be in a particularly good mood to tolerate C.C. and Connie, and isn't very fond of Ophelia Moon. The little mare has been on his case since the day they met, and unfortunately, she is incredibly protective of Dawn. Plus, he's sick to death of that stupid joke everypony makes (since Ophelia [the actual moon] is the smallest of Jupiter's [the actual planet] sixty-nine moons.)
Ahhhh I've been so excited to post this fellow. It took me awhile to really get his character correct — he's flawed, but (hopefully) still a lovable fellow who's story you'll want to follow. I'm really excited to explore his relationship with Starlight and her struggles of being a mom.
Ooohhh and all the goodness I've got with him and Dawn. I mean…all the totally platonic doodles I've got….
