Before we start the story:
Sunset and Starlight have been trying to have a child for awhile after marriage but nothing had been working. They've tried adoption but their criminal records won't allow them to adopt. Being powerful unicorns, and magic being based off emotion, their love for each other and desire for a child manifested into powerful magic that made their daughter.

Sunset and Starlight cuddled closer in bed, the tips of their horns touching. Sleeping soundly in their room of Twilight's castle.

As the sun began to rise, magic began sparking from each of their horns. Their magic then began to collide together into a single mass of red and blue light when the two unicorns awakened in shock. They both got out of bed but the swirling mass of magic stayed where it was, resting on the pillow they shared.

"W-What is that!?" Sunset yelled, backing away. Starlight got in front of her wife, ready to defend her if something went wrong.

The magic mass just laid in place, a glowing and gleaming orb of swirling red and blue magic. Then it began to take shape. Sunset opened the curtains to bring the sunlight in and get a better look at what it was doing. The mass then seemed to burst, Starlight making a shield around herself and Sunset.

Then came a sound. A sound like an infant's coo. Starlight lowered the shield and Sunset walked up to their bed as small sparks of red and blue magic began to fall around them.

The foal lifted it's head and opened her eyes. The same eyes that Sunset Shimmer had with a coat like Starlight's.

"Is that…a baby? Our baby?" Sunset cautiously reached her hoof out to the child, gently poking her snout and making her giggle.

Starlight and Sunset took their child and held her. As the child looked up at them, she smiled, the sunlight hitting her face as she did.

"What should we name her?" Starlight asked, gently petting their new daughter's hair.

Sunset looked out the window and them at her smiling baby. "How about…Daylight Gleam."

"I like that name." Starlight kissed Daylight's cheek.

Sunset's smile faded and concern replaced it. "Hey, Glimmy?"

"Yeah, Sunny?" Starlight tickled her daughter's tummy, filled with bliss.

"How are we gonna explain this to Twilight and the others?"

Starlight stopped tickling, a concerned look now on her face as well. "oh boy…"
