Before I jump into this, I think i should recap. it's probably worth reading this before you jump into the story (it's kind of a thread i haven't done much with since writing it so i imagine most ppl dont really know what it is) : www.deviantart.com/uunicornicc…
this piece takes place the night after Twilight questions Luna, asking her to join her after discovering Celestia's original "plans" and having the realisation of how shed been manipulated.

"Twilight."
The mare did not respond, resoundly keeping her back to the princess looming behind her. Though it took most of her strength, she was resound to not falter in front of her.
"You cannot ignore me forever, child. I've spent plenty a night wandering your dreams."
"Don't call me a child."
Luna sniffed. she stepped forward tentatively, cautiously stepping over Twilight's tail that twitched irritably on the floor.
"You should be in bed. It's not best for you to be out on the balcony in the cold like this."
"I'm. fine," she growled.
Luna said nothing. She placed herself down next to the mare, watching the moon she had expertly raised shine over the horizon of a sleepy Ponyville. Most households seemed to be asleep, with just the flicker of a few lights in scattered windows, their rooftops touched gently by the blue light of the moon. To Luna's credit, the night was stunning… many moons ago the sight of so many ponies seemingly asleep in their homes would have upset Luna — but now, older and wiser, her concerns lied elsewhere.
"Your question earlier caught me off guard, Sparkle."
This finally caused Twilight to waver somewhat. She spared a glance at Luna, her eyes glistening. Luna continued.
"Of all of us, you hae always been the most loyal to her. While I have my history and Cadence is rather disconnected from the goings on in Canterlot, you remained by her side for most endeavours. I suppose I just didn't expect you to turn so suddenly."
"I know that you are upset, and you have every right to be… But I know my sister, just as well as you do. You know deep down, that she cared for you, like her own, and she still does."
"Mhm."
"I'm not here to convince you of anything. You have every right to be upset, but know that my sister is not the master manipulator you think she is. She is misguided I will grant you, but all she does is out of love for her subjects."
"If all you're here to do is lecture me on stuff I've already been told, I'm not interested."
"I'm just here to caution you. Be angry, be upset, but don't let that take hold of you. Don't let it make you do anything stupid," Luna ruffled her wings.
Twilight said nothing. Some part of her mind knew that Luna was right, and she knew where these feelings would ultimately take her — but she was hurt, she was angry. Why didn't Luna understand that? Why wasn't she on her side?
Angry hot tears threatened to spill from Twilight's eyes. Her voice came out in a strained croak.
"How long have you known?"
"Truthfully, I only found out after you spoke to me. I went to my sister concerning it, and had her confirm it for me herself."
"Aren't you mad? Don't you think it's…"
"Of course, Twilight."
"So why won't you join me?"
"Because I know where this road goes."
Twilight fell silent, soaking in Luna's words. Perhaps she was right, and perhaps she should drop it and move forward….Or maybe she wouldn't make the same mistakes, maybe she would learn to control herself, and maybe, this time, things could be different. Maybe she could make a change.
The two sat in silence for some time. Luna searched for something to say, ultimately coming up with nothing. Twilight ketp her eyes to the floor, tears silently spilling to the floor. Luna finally spoke.
"I am to stay here tonight."
"What..?"
"Leaving you alone and isolated is not a good idea. I also promised Celestia I would ensure you're recovering properly."
"Why not just visit my dreams? You don't need to be here."
"Because we both know you don't plan on sleeping," Luna stood up. "Now, stand. You really should be in bed."
Twilight begrudgingly followed her, muttering curses under her breath. Luna pretended she could not hear it.
I hope, whatever you orchestrated this for, sister, it was worth it. Because even I am questioning your judgement.
