- Sigil is the second born to Night Light and Twilight Velvet; Little brother to Shining Armor and older brother to Twilight Sparkle.

- Nicknamed the "Forgotten Brother" in future lore.

- Often overshadowed by his "royal siblings", Sigil spends his days locked in his room practicing magic and dwells into the art of black magic; to someday surpass his sisters' powers; Princess or not.

- He stays up all night, rarely sleeping; when he does sleep, the dark spells he studies gives him nightmares.. Nightmares not even Princess Luna can save.

- Sigil cares deeply for his parents, but feels they do not understand him or that Shining and Twilight are their favorites because of their royal statuses, leaving Sigil to be forgotten by other ponies as their brother.

- Blames Twilight for himself becoming a "nopony", after he gave up his turn to her during the exam for Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, and missed his chance to become Celestia's protege. In his corrupted mind, Spike should be his, the crown should be his, the status should be his, etc.

- Wishes to prove he is just as or more powerful than Twilight Sparkle.. at any cost.

This is an alternate universe that I decided to have a little fun with, where I design siblings to the 'Mane 6', and how I imagine they would be if they existed canonly with their siblings.

With Sigil, I wanted to focus on the fact neither Night Light or Twilight Velvet are by any means royal, yet their only two children are.
With Shining being a Prince after marrying Cadence, and Twilight being the Princess of Friendship, I tried to imagine what it would be like for them to have one more child.. one that is not royal and does not become royal; one who just a unicorn like his parents.

I decided to make him the second born, moving Twilight to youngest, for a few reasons:

1. It makes it a bit more like a punch to the face knowing Twilight is younger than him and still a Princess and "a magic prodigy"
2. Seeing as Twilight is my favorite personally, and I relate to her greatly, this sibling pattern matches my own: Two older brothers.

Clearly I'm setting this up to make Sigil a future antagonist; but he starts out as just a regular, pesky older brother to Twilight.
