Finally, I finished Lokie’s long over due Character Study. Although, I’m kinda glad I waited until now, since the style is significantly better than past Character Studies I’ve drawn. Honestly, I have to daily resist the urge to re-draw every single post from May-July.
Anyway, enough about crappy art. More juicy details! ~
1. Lokie’s a very bashful fellow. Doesn’t take much to get him turning peachy pink under those shaggy bangs.
2. This is Lokie’s reaction to everything 50% of the time.
3. Even a kind soul like Lokie can get annoyed once in a while, especially when a certain mare named Harmony is involved.
4. One of Lokie’s favorite pastime and hobby is writing, particularly poetry. He’s been dabbling in poems since he was a foal, even if his only audience was his family and the creatures that Fluttershy cares for. And that’s just fine with him, considering he’s too shy and insecure to share his work with anypony else.
( Note: this poem was created by me)
5. Lokie doesn’t like doing manual labor, but if his Mom needs help gardening, then you can bet your 20$ limited edition of Edgar Hoofen Poe’s Poems Collection that Lokie is going to help. Besides, gardening can be kinda of relaxing in a way. Oh, and look, Lokie with two eyes! * exaggerated gasping*
6.You’ve probably noticed by now that Lokie’s not typically that expressive, and barely gives more than a small smile. Because he’s doesnt like to show his pearly whites, asking him to grin wide is like asking him to talk more than five words in a sentence. He can’t really do it. shrugs
7. Just because Lokie’s extremely quiet, doesn’t mean he isn’t aware of what’s going on around him. Quite the opposite; he’s rather in tune with others and is excellent at observing those in his very very small social circle. Because of this, he can easily spot out oppertunities to do a kind deed for them, and he’ll secretly go out his way to help. It’s the silent, but sweet way he shows that cares for them.
8. Lokie, no one’s going to take you seriously when you say it with that face.
Yeah, this is just a little jab at how much of wet blanket Lokie can be sometimes. He’s a sweet, sensitive colt, but sometimes he can take a little bit of teasing to seriously or end up making a mountain out of a mole hill over the pettiest thing.
As he grows older, he gets better at hiding his hurt feelings, but he’s still a wimp deep down. A caring, kindhearted wimp, but still a wimp.
Note: * This character study focuses on him more as a child to early teen*
