Mares of Hoof and Talon (Mockup cover)

Just a fake cover, for experimental and exploration purposes. I'm not writing a story, but I do want to expand into art books more, and this was partially to see what tone I could go for.
I already have a Sketches&Doodles version, but that's way more barebone, this style would be more in line of full illustrations and the like. Or perhaps a creature book? Or something book book.

Just one way to do it, out of so many others…
Besides, I kept adjusting this a ton haha. There's an old version, where I just kept the first font it went to. Then I went and took a font I used on a fake book cover from years back. Which was for my First Contact War universe.

Talking about that, this was one of my potential replacement/alternative names for my FCW universe. Something that rings a bit better, shorter, catchier, or something that aint "First Contact War". Which was supposed to be only my work name anyway, but I stuck with it because it highlights the entire purpose I made that universe.

I'm not much of a graphical artist, more of an illustrator just trying to apply some similar logic to it.
Although… technically I did have some classes around graphic design during college… so I ain't completely unfamiliar.

Anyhow. Just some random mare sketches, wanted to try sketching face angles, expressions and in a combined collection. Like how you might've seen other artists compose multiple faces like this. It's always great to see some illustrations with an approach like this. One of those side-goals perhaps.
