A whole lot of you wanted to see Bulk meet the family, and while I couldn’t show case his relationship with each and every one of them, here’s a load of info on the most ones I could come up with~
Igneous and Cloudy:
Ever since he was hired, Igneous and Cloudy were a tad put off by his…over-the-top behavior, but they highly respected him for his manners and incredible work ethic. When he started officially courting Limestone, everything became a lot more personal. Even though they gave their blessing, they were very hesitant at first about accepting him into their family. After all, for generations they had only married earth ponies so that any offspring they’d produce would have the genetic ability to continue working the farm. However, despite being a stunnted pegasus, Bulk made up for his lineage with his impeckable strength. Over time, they were able to look past his untraditional ways in order to see the honest, kindhearted nature inside him and now they can’t imagine life without their boisterous, caring son-in-law.
On the flip side, Bulk adores his stiff, strict parent-in-laws. His own mother raised him by herself until succumbing to a life-long illness, so the two basically became his surrogate parents. He doesn’t understand their weird way of talking or doing things, but it doesn’t bother him a bit and while he may be a dunce, he’s determined to learn and respect the family’s traditions. He’d do just about anything to make his in-laws proud and he looks up to the wise, yet humble couple.
Mud and Cheese:
Bulk doesn’t have a lot of guy friends that he hangs around with, mostly due to working so much. Which is why he treasures every family get together or visit when he can spend some time getting down and getting messy with his not technically uncle-in-laws. Cheese loves the big goof, even if his hugs are just a bit to tight. Bulk enjoys Cheese’s silliness, even if he doesn’t always get the joke, and he loves nothing more than watch ( and sometimes participate) in his little shows. As for mud, they uh…don’t really get each other very much, but Bulk is still adamant that their besties. Mud finds Bulk’s lack of intellect discouraging at times and has even gone so far as to offer some tutoring lessons for the illiterate brute. Bulk eagerly accepted, viewing the lessons as more a chance for more bonding time. The lessons go about as well as you think, but despite the low success rate, it did help to deepen their friendship, which was the goal after all, right?
Pinkie’s kids:
( Note: I didn’t go try to shove in a scene showcasing the individual relationships he has with each kiddo, so this is a general overview of Bulk’s role as an uncle)
When Pinkie and Cheese announced they were having a foal, Bulk was ecstatic. He loves kids, since they don’t judge you for being all brawn and no brains, and foals tend to love him back. So when Bulk found out, he took his role as an Uncle very seriously. He always made it to every single one of their birthdays, sent a ton of gifts for Hearths Warming, and always spoiled them when he had the chance- whether that was taking them out for ice cream at 11:00 o’ clock at night or constructing a water slide out of the side of a cliff for them to play on whenever they visit. He’d even join in their playing whenever he could.
Twinkle was his biggest fan out of her siblings and got along splendidly with her rowdy Uncle. Caramel also loved him, even if some of his decisions seemed a bit irresponsible. Same with Taffy who, despite finding his playing rough at times, still enjoys spending time with Bulk. Rocky is the only one who adamantly does not like Bulk, which is no surprise to anyone. Bulk doesn’t quite get why his nephew refuses to come out of his room whenever he visits, but that doesn’t stop the oblivious Bulk from trying to win him over. He hasn’t succeeded yet, but he’ll buy every book in all of Ponyville if he has too.
