Finally the time is right. The day of hauntings, spooky spoops, and candy shall now fill the day, and how else would I do it than with my last Halloween doodle, featuring my pants pony and the lovely chef mare? Enjoy!

Foals were running around with bags and pumpkin buckets flailing from their mouths, ponies were dressed up in funky and colorful costumes, and everywhere you go there is always something spooky and scary around the corner. Of course, Nightmare Night has begun and Ponyville was definitely never gonna miss out on the day of frights. As everypony was getting ready, Pinkie Pie happily invited even some of friends outside of Ponyville to come on over to join the ponies in the nightly festivities. One of those friends being the gorgeous Saffron Masala, who was eager to head down once Sketchy Dupe showed her the little from her bouncy cotton candy friend.

_ Both ponies proceeded to get ready. Sketchy put on this neat sweater costume he ordered and oddly enough delivered to himself (He’s a mailpony), not that he was complaining, as he delightfully put on the costume resembling the werehog form of the famous Sonic the Hedgehog character. The beastly form of the costume definitely felt fitting for Sketchy, though he wasn’t so sure why. It’s not like he was some kind of beast himself in some regard, at least. As far as he was aware. Saffron knew of Sketchy’s little game theme he had going for his costume, so she thought it would be nice to try a costume to match. The unicorn spent some of her free time seeing a peculiar series herself, making a costume that would more than likely to please the stallion. Being inspired by an enchanting belly dancer, Saffron got into her costume resembling Shantae, walking into the living room to show off to the werepony. Of course, he was dead silent, hiding his intense blush in his hoodie after seeing Saffron in such revealing attire, thought telling her she does looks beautiful. The mare chuckled at Sketchy being so flustered, simply poking her head inside Sketchy’s hood and kissing him on the snout.

After their little intimate moment, Sketchy and Saffron head to the train station and traveled to Ponyville, amazed by the wondrous sight of ponies and costumes and activities galore. They didn’t know where to start, deciding to try some games first. They enjoyed their time tossing spiders at webs, bobbing for apples, and going through spooky corn mazes. Of course, they danced alongside the other ponies, though Sketchy wasn’t much of a dancer himself. He knew so little, so he just went all out trying to sync his improvised dance moves with the music, though the other ponies just watched as this weird spiny wolf pony was just going crazy (www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocgj9t… This being the dance Sketchy was doing). Saffron wasn’t finding it odd, but rather cute as her coltfriend was having the small time of his life. She eventually laughed in amusement, Sketchy stopping to take a breather as the mare hugged him, now calm after giggling and laughing. She told him that she’s not only his teacher in cooking, but will also have to be his teacher in dancing. Sketchy playfully scoffed at her words, tossing her big ponytail to cover her face in silly retaliation._

_ Saffron eventually spotted Pinkie and her friends, chatting with them as Sketchy sat on the sidelines, letting the mare be with her friends. He was treating himself to some candy casually until he spotted some stallions eyeing the mares. They walked to them and began to talk, Sketchy not minding it as he saw some simple flirting in the group. That was when one of them began to flirt with Saffron, though despite the mare telling him that she was already taken, the pony was far from leaving her sight. Seeing the pony try to woo the unicorn, Sketchy twitched as he slowly walked towards the pony with a sour look, telling him to leave. The stallion shrugged and scoffed, daring the costumed Sketchy to make him leave, which made him quite upset. The stallion was confused, but also a bit frightened, once he saw Sketchy growl at him, his eyes oozing in black and his pupils glowing green, with his teeth suddenly looking like charcoal. Sharp charcoal. The stallion agreed that it was best for him to take his business elsewhere, Sketchy being more calm as he kept his green glowing eyes at the rushed pony. That was when he shook and snapped back to focus. Saffron thanked the pony for the help, to which he turned to her in a bit of confusion, but accepted the thanks from his beloved mare. The ponies around them were amazed by how good Sketchy was being like how he was dressed, the growling sounds being so life-like, sounding like a timberwolf even, of all creatures. Sketchy scratched his head, but shrugged it off as he and Saffron continued to enjoy the festivities._

_ Some time later, the two rode the train back to Canterlot, Sketchy giving Saffron his sweater costume as he didn’t want her to get cold in such a revealing costume. Saffron rested her eyes for a bit, nuzzling against Sketchy as she slept on the ride home. The stallion wrapped his hooves around the mare, nuzzling back. He was glad he and Saffron enjoyed the pleasant night, despite a little hiccup or two. Though, as he remained awake, something came back to his mind, when he scared off the stallion that wouldn’t stop bothering Saffron. He began to recall feeling passed out for a moment, but there was one thing Sketchy knew for certain, the growls he made he certainly never knew he could do. Just as Sketchy slept alongside Saffron, he was oblivious to the little shards of wood going back into his body._

So based on the story alone, this kind of takes place before Sketchy ever turns into a full timberpony, only slight hints being made about his alternate form.

Now this doodle is kind of a callback sort of speak. I looked back at other Sketchy and Saffron doodles, bringing back some ideas used in them. For instance, Sketchy’s sweater costume like in the Kaa Sketchy doodle (fav.me/dbrs6al) and Saffron as Shantae (fav.me/db6bscs). I thought it would be fun to try these again, by changing who Sketchy dresses as and making the Shantae look more refined, a bit more based on the Half Genie Hero look.

This doodle was also gonna be all flat colored, kind of to resemble the show in a sense, but I couldn’t help myself and made everything look like they at least have some form of depth.

One other thing to note, for the story, was I was gonna think of a parody name for Sonic, given how this is the MLP world and whatnot, but I figured to just keep it simple and not mix around the classic name.
