Continuing on the theme on the ShiningDance kids, here's little Faerie Sky having a very intense discussion with his oldest sister over what flavour of gummi-fruits is the tastiest. Flurry tries her best to follow along with arguments such as "Blueberry gummies can't be the best, 'cause they don't have any corners" or "The banana's aren't bent enough, but the kiwi's look funny". Honestly, it's quite a nice respite from trying to learn how to rule a kingdom.

As an adult, Flurry Heart grew up to be absolutely giant -if one includes the horn, she's even taller than Princess Celestia, though the Princess has her beat in height at the withers. She's also retained her disproportionately large wings, as for some reason seems to have grown a beard. She used to shave it as a teenager when it first grew in, but eventually found that she didn't mind it enough to have to do that every other morning. Besides, when she strokes it, she appears more intellectual. She always wears her mane and tail tightly braided and wrapped -the tips have tendency to wave in a non-existant breeze, and it kinda freaks her out to always see movement out of the corner of her eyes.
Despite her intimidating figure, Flurry is very quiet and timid, often feeling afraid and slightly paranoid over any potential dangers around her. Not that she really is ever in any actual danger as an adultshe's been taking both magicand physical combat-lessons since she was little, starting after she and her cousin were briefly kidnapped. Her special talent is helping people, and she's currently residing in the Crustal castle, learning how to be a leader of an Empire -though she really hopes that'll never be neccessary for her to do.
I wanted to give Flurry Heart a really unique appearence, and have her look more like how traditional unicorns and pegasi dohence the large wings and horn, and the beard. In keeping with how all my ShiningDance kiddos represent some aspect of love, Flurry would be …altruism (?)she cares about everyone, even complete strangers. She's really sympathetic towards other people and she likes to help whenever she can. It's really really hard to make her angry with you -she might attack you to defend herself or others, but that's always out on neccessity and not because of anger or hatred.
Faerie Sky is the youngest in the family by a long shot -Cadence and Shining Armor weren't planning on having any more children, so Faerie came as a very big suprise to them. Despite being the baby in the family, Shining and Cadence try to keep very sure they aren't spoiling him, while somehow not making him feel left out due to the age gap to his siblings. It's a narrow edge to balance.
Faerie is a very absentminded and silly colt, who can never pay attention to his lessons, and prefers to be chasing butterflies, or watching the guard train, or braiding his tail, or… He's easily excitable. He was born an alicorn, which once again perplexed people everywhere. But unlike his sister, he doesn't seem to have any special affinity for …anything really. So noone's really sure what's going on. They keep a close watch on him, but so far he's being very average in learning how to use magic or flying. Well, he's at least very kind and friendly to a fault, so his parents aren't too worried.
I based Faerie Sky's design on Princess Amore from the comics. I haven't actually read them, but I came across her design and really liked it, so I thought I'd be fun if one of Cadence's kids inherited their ancestors appearence. In terms of love, Faerie represent familial love -it's not shown much in now, since he's just a foal, but in his life, his family will always take top priority.
