A Prequel to >>1922929

Zephyr Breeze was a free Pony, flitting around and having fun where the wind carried him.
One of those places was the royal lap of Prince rutherford, a gruff Yak with a soft core and great mane if Zephyr had any say.
Playing and flirting and having fun was part of the course of course.
Until one night inconvenience struck, or maybe just Rutherfords will to gain an heir…
A month of feeling drained, sick and generally unwell followed for Zephyr, he stuck around the Yak village, unwilling to move in his state until he decided to follow the ludicrous idea he might've gotten too busy with Rutherford, and bought a pregnancy test.
The shock was huge.
For half an hour at least, the stallion stared at the small stick in his hooves showing two lines, positive.
After freezing long enough for his throat to be completely dry he let's out a hoarse croaking laugh and proceeds to take 8 more tests, absolutely blowing through his spare change.
All positive, he was pregnant.
The idea of carrying a child was absolutely nauseating and he then continued to empty his stomach.
Another couple of hours was spend crying, curling up on the floor and just completely melting apart in panic.

When he finally dragged himself out of the bathroom he went to confront Rutherford.
Zephyr was a complete mess, hair sticking out in all places, eyes rimmed in dark bags and sore redness from crying, legs shaking and wings disshevled.
Rutherford was elated.
As soon as Zephyr squeezed the words out between his teeth, the Yak jumped circles around him.
Cheering and yodeling and yabbering on about the new heir to the throne.
Zephyr barfed in front of his hooves.
Feeling left alone and used the Pegasus collapsed, finding himself hours later in Rutherfords sleeping hut.
As soon as his eyes opened, the prince darted to him, cooing about taking care and being responsible as a parent and to take care of the baby.

Zephyr knew, deep down, that Rutherford was just genuinely excited, but he could feel nothing but disgust, hopelessness and dejection for the Yak.
Fighting himself out of the covers the Pegasus sprinted out of the hut, his entire body feeling like led but he needed to get away from the person who'd done this to him.
It wasn't fair. None of this was fair.

At the end of the day his legs were burning and so were his wings, he must have flown and crashed at some point, his primaries were bend and disshevled, he was bruised and had a slight limp.
Leaving Yakyakistan by hoof without preparation was not the smartest idea but he needed to move away as fast as possible.
Over the next week Zephyr was missing, Rutherford first searched for him in the Village, then around the nearby tundra and finally got a call that Zephyr was fine and did not wish to be contacted.

It took days, sleeping outside, being soaked and beat up just to get to a safe place.
Ringing the doorbell he collapsed before a door opened to pour warm comforting light over him.
''Zephyr Breeze ? Zeph what the tartarus ?? You look a mess ! What happened !!''
The panic in the sweet brunettes voice was somehow comforting, someone to worry about him and what he was feeling.
His eyes were full with tears and he looked like as much a mess as he felt but looking up and seeing the shadow of an earthpony looming over him was incredibly comforting.

Quibble Pants was another one of the places Zeph liked to visit, to play around, tease each other and enjoy each others company. Now he was his ultimate refuge.
After fretting and yelling a bit, absolutely not prepared to find his lanky love in a complete mess on the floor in front of his home, Quibble dragged the Pegasus inside.

tldr: Rutherford got Zeph pregnant despite him not wanting to carry so he runs off to find a safe haven with Quibble.

Soooo yeah, love Rutherford, he didn't mean anything by it but Zeph completely avoids Rutherford and Yakyakistan now.
Quibble knows it's not exactly a healthy grudge but he doesn't want to pressure Zeph into more stress.

Aaaand yup that's right, in my general headcanon and Eqqverse Zephyr Breeze is a trans stallion.
I love my son to bits.
He will find comfort and happpiness with Quibble and the Yakoni nugget they'll eventually raise together as Zeph has neither the energy nor the will to go through an abortion ontop of the general stress he already went through.
