Crossroads let out a puff of smoke, feeling the herbs fill him with pleasure. It had been centuries since he could get high on anything but…
"My, the stuff circulating now is so mild but passable." He sighed, taking another hit. "I should get Master to hurry up with my pay before I use this all up."
Speaking of the devil, and he did appear, bursting through the door and stomping across the room. Crossroads watched his master rage from the door to his desk, casually letting the smoke flow from him.
"Long day?" He asked, his tone light as the air they breathed.
"…"
"Anything interesting?"
"Cross…" He knew Hazy couldn't hold it in long.
"Oh, by the way, I can't help but notice your entourage." He said, pointing the the floating masses floating aroung Hazy. They were clearly ghosts. "Am I to set a place for them at the table?" He asked, waiting for the young stallion to explode.
It didn't take much.
"Cross, what the fuck is this?!" He roared, glaring at the familiar. "They've been following me all damn day and won't go away!"
Ah, that must have been interesting. Did they make funny faces or anything."
"Cross…" Hazy snarled, looking close to violence. "I know you're apart of this. You always are!"
"Me? Oh, you wound me, Master." He said, wiping an imaginary tear from his eyes. "I am innocent. I have been here, as per your orders. However could I have done anything like, say — tell some local ghosts to go and introduce themselves to you? To do everything in their power to get your attention since you are so new, you might not hear them over the voices of the living. To annoy my master for being such a bore as to confine me, the great and powerful Crossroads, in a room like an unruly foal. I mean, that would be just petty."
"…You fucking bastard."

Crossroads is a troll.
For many years, Hazy has been able to see ghosts. It never was anything special to him, just another quirk to his long list of them. While most don't believe him, he has learned how to remain focused on the living, even if his eyes sometimes follows seemingly empty space. Crossroads, as his familiar, can also see ghosts and uses that to mess with his master.
Crossroads is Hazy Sky's familiar, tasked with assisting him in whatever he does. In return, Hazy makes him a special potion. Today, however, Hazy orders Cross to remain in his room for the day as punishment for something he did before. Like a foal. Cross wasn't pleased by that but had to follow orders given by his master. But that doesn't mean he can't fuck with his master too by getting the local ghosts to harass him.
