Hello, this is Flare Spark or "Sparky" here to finally review my favorite movie of 2018, Bohemian Rhapsody! Yes, this has been a long time coming, I got the opportunity to buy the Blu-Ray of the movie on Tuesday, and got to watch it again just in time before the Oscar ceremony on February the 24th. Rami Malek has been nominated for Best Actor for playing the extraordinary band leader of Queen, Freddie Mercury! Just hearing all of the memorable songs by the greatest rock band in history and being made into probably the best biopic ever just is phenomenal and the fact they recreated the most iconic moments including the 1985 Live Aid concert at the end, the casting choices for all the Queen members and the carefully crafted screenplay that told the story of how Queen was formed and how it rose from an unheard English rock band to the biggest music group in the world in the mid-1970's with the song that made them international super-stars with the single Bohemian Rhapsody, followed by We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions, and with Freddie Mercury going solo and his diagnosis of AIDS that made him reunite with the band he helped create and performing what would be the main highlight of his musical career. With Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, he recaptures pretty much everything what the late Freddie did for the band Queen, his personal life, and the tough choices he had to make. It's also noted that Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor are co-producers of the film making the film so true to the band, and making the critics question about Bohemian Rhapsody, which in 1975 had no critical acclaim but nevertheless was a huge hit on the charts. I even had the pleasure to see this in IMAX and the mind-blowing experience gives the movie it's magical touch through the visuals and the sounds. The film should never be without an Oscar nor without it's fans who are either die-hard Queen fanatics or people new to their songs. Rami Malek is worthy of Best Actor of 2018, if not, at least he gave it his all, but I don't think anybody will top Malek as Mercury. All four members of Queen, Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek), Brian May (Gwilym Lee), Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) and John Deacon (Joseph Mazzello) nailed it in the best musical of the year as they even included a theatrical sing-along in the same manner of 2013's Frozen. The movie has been an international hit and has gotten so much praise from both critics and audiences and has been labeled as probably the best biopic in years… A biopic? More like a bio-epic! I'm not saying this movie is all perfect but it is a masterpiece considering how much work had to be put in and how close they had to recreate Queen in it's prime up to the Live Aid concert and how Rami had to act and look like Freddie Mercury everyday. After I walked out of the theater, my heart was filled with joy, tears of happiness, brought so many emotions. I laughed, cried, sand and wish I could have seen Queen live, this band will live on forever. I can't get enough with Rami Malek, he obviously worked so hard, he pulls off an amazing performance, he just brings Freddie back to life and I don't think you will see any better film about Freddie Mercury again. It's an oppurtunity of a lifetime, every aspects of this movie was executed beautifully. Long live Queen, Long live Freddie Mercury. This is my favorite movie of 2018, hooves down, or hands down when I'm an Equestria Girl. This has been Flare Spark, and I'll catch you at the next concert! I rate Bohemian Rhapsody: 10/10 or 5 stars.
