Story Time! (long read, skip it if you want)
…I'm a total beginner who over relies on sketches, lineart and planning. Never would I even attempt jumping into a blank screen and start painting with colors and preset brushes! But I did. Ten minutes I literally was dumping grey (neutral) colors on the canvas waiting for an idea to just strike me.
What is this nonsense? Also, idea's not coming in. So I decided to make something happen instead of waiting and dumped blue colors on it. Then I went for brown and orange-y yellow. Look, I was going to make a hijab pony pic anyway (that's literally ALL I do) so I put her in the middle. At this point she was just a blob of pale yellow and red, and dashes of pink. I wish I could show you this stage of the painting. It was a mess that even a five year old could do.
So an idea finally stuck, and I can finally start sketching ( I simply cannot get away from sketching ) …but with COLORS! Less than two hours later the scene was done. I rough painted most of the stuff I needed: namely shape and value and well, colors. Now the hard work can begin.
Next day I tweaked a lot of stuff. Even redid the background and the pony. But it was still…empty. I needed something. Somehow I decided to put a Saiyan Pod in the background. I was having so much fun I forgot I was only working with two layers. One layer for the pony, one for…everything else!
I regretted my decision but I couldn't undo that far back, and I've saved after I drew the pod! I was at the point when I couldn't erase the pod without destroying the background, but a Saiyan Pod just makes NO SENSE!…So I put the hijab pony in Saiyan Armor, and gave her a scouter. How did it go so wrong? But there was no going back. So There you have it. I had fun, though.
