So, i was looking around Derpibooru for G1 stuff and it reminded me some things about G1 Spike. He was the pet dragon to Majesty and is Scorpan's precious babu boi. And that gave me an impression that Majesty and Scorpan are Spike's overprotective parents, because of a story i have in which they saved his egg from impending doom, and finding that they can't raise him, they give him up to Celstia's School in hopes someone else can raise him better than they would.
I mean, it's a better excuse for a backstory than what 'Father Knows Beast' bought us.
