My MLP:FiM NextGen. Rainfall — daughter of Rainbow Dash and Soarin — helping a colt, who lost his mother somehwere in the streets of the big city. Also I tried to give a little glimpse into Rainfall's current state of mind. (Once again I remind you that English is not my native)

"Excuse me, sir."
"What is it, Miss?"
"This foal is lost. I tried to find his mother, but my train is leaving in half an hour. Can you help him, please."
"Sure. Come on, my little friend, tell me who is your mom and where did you see her last time?"
"Thank you, sir."
The policepony nodded. Rainfall headed for the railway station and soon both ponies disappeared behind the veil of the rain. She had no doubts that everything will end fine. Perhaps she could find colt's mother too had she a little more time. But the train to Ponyville won't wait. Still spending so much time trying to help a lost foal was a good thing. Right? It was important? Or what? Is the fate of one pony really matters? Is there anything in the world that matters at all?
Rainfall sighed and closed her eyes for a moment. Incident with a colt got her distracted for some time, but now it is over and she stays alone with his thoughts again. As it always happens.
"Hey, watch you go, Miss!!! Tired of living or what?!" — young mare stopped and let the cab pass by. Tired of living? Rainfall touched the green scarf on her neck. No, she wasn't "tired" of living, she just… saw no point in it. She knew it was considered strange and inappropriate opinion for a pony like her. Rainfall had nothing to complain about: she was born in a good family, she had good friends, a good job in Weather Factory where was praised as a very good worker. There was a stallion who had a crush and her, and it was true that Rainfall liked him too. Why not enjoying life? Several years ago she would agree with it. Yes, she always considered "love" as something stupid and laughable but overall she has been purposeful mare who had life goals and dreams. Where could it all have gone?
Rainfall remembered the days in Cloudsdale Academy when she and Summer watched "Alicornion: A New Beginning". When the main character almost allowed all the ponies in Equestria die during "Pony Complementation" in the end of the show, she found it absolutely stupid. Ironically, now she wasn't sure she wouldn't do the same had she been given the same opportunity.
It was hard to find one specific reason… Reason, you say? Maybe she was too reasonable. Too serious. Too sceptical. Rainfall always adored critical reasoning, she questioned everything. It made her proud, but could such attitude play a cruel joke on her in the end? If you don't want to slip into insanity you have to take something for granted. What if it is true? But how can she take anything for granted if she always needs a clear explanation for everything?
Life. True, her life was "good". But Rainfall saw no point in life in general. Not anymore. Why struggle, why doing anything at all. What for? To distract yourself until death finally finishes you for good? Why does this ridiculous giant circus even exists? Wouldn't it be better if world was still and lifeless? Eternal peace.
"Your ticket, Miss. Thank you. Take your seat, the train is leaving in a minute."
Rainfall knew that such thoughts were generally frowned upon, she herself hated such musings before. Funny how can things change in time. Young mare would be happy to abandon these thoughts. Why couldn't she just think if the colt's mother was found? She cared about him while she was searching for his mother, where does this apathy come from now? Why do the ideas of void and emptiness keep on haunting her? But she saw no way this could ever change.
The train began to move.
