This is an upgrade granted to Trackhead by the Equestrian Mechanical Defense Force for his woodcutting sawblade.
It is a boomerang blade that he can throw from his head, while it is not being used a half of the weapon is folded inside the other half to save space.
While the blade itself is not particularly sharp inside it contains mechanisms that give the thrown boomerang kinetic force that makes up it's cutting power. Trackhead's mind circuits can remotely tell the blade it's trajectory even while on flight, after it's use it can safely return to Trackhead's scalp.
It has been demostrated that it is able to reliably cut through tungsten and dent the strange magic-proof steel the elite soldiers of the Iron Swords are built of.
