Star Swirl can feel his horn started to crack. He had never put so much power into magic before. The ancient foe before him put testament of Star Swirl's ability. The former ruler of Tambelon would show no mercy to one of the greatest wizard of all time, for Star Swirl sworn to protect Equestria and his beloved pupils.

Star Swirl wished he could forsee this calamity coming, or perhaps this is truly beyond his capabilities, as Grogar had been preparing for millennia to ensure nothing could stand between him and his conquest of Equestria, not even Star Swirl the Bearded.

Star Swirl was at his limit, as his horn could possibly shatter from too much use. Perhaps this is where he will meet his end. If that is so, then he will give Twilight and the others time to find a way to defeat Grogar.

He looked back when he first explored Equestria, trained Celestia and Luna, all the while battling evils that plagued the land. It was not until recently that Twilight, would teach him the most valuable thing everyone should have, friendship

It is friendship that propels anyone to be a hero to others, to connect with creatures he never thought possible, and to see the world in a more wonderful way. His only regret would be that he didn't learned that sooner.

If his sacrifice would mean that Equestria would not only be safe, but to prosper at the hooves of Twilight and her friends, then he would gladly give his all.

This is where his legends end.
