I wanted to post this after Swordpony was on track again, but I'm taking too long there so here's the cover. One day I hope to have the back cover vectored as well, so I can print some hardcover copies of the completed story. For now, though, the spine and back cover are unnecessary. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult that back cover would be to vector.

Swordpony takes place over a thousand years before the events of Friendship is Magic, deep into the darkness of Equestria's past. Before the realm was united, before Luna's fall, and before the three pony races stood as equals, Medieval Equestria was a land divided. Celestia and Luna hold the throne, but the feudal ways of old are slow to die. Unicorn nobles cling desperately to power, while the pegasi enforce their will and earth ponies toil under their hooves. Such is the way it has always been. But times, they are a-changin'…

Warning: story is not technically Grimdark, but I've kept it tagged as such so readers know for sure what they're getting into. The language is show friendly, save for a "hell" or "damned to" once in a long while. The violence is what might disturb you.


Synopsis:

"It's been five long years since Red Pommel rose from the dirt and clawed his way to the top. But being the Master Swordpony of Everfree Castle isn't all it's cracked up to be. Instead of quests, dragonslaying, and saving damsels, all he got was five years of court politics and glorified guard duty. And what does he have to show for it? More money than he knows what to do with and just as many enemies.

Now dragons stir in the far north, mysteriously freed from an ancient prison. When Celestia calls for an envoy, it's no surprise Red jumps at the chance to get out of the castle. Maybe he'll finally get a chance to slay something after all. But when his desire to swashbuckle leads him astray, he may instead find himself caught in a tale of dark forests, dead gods, and gleaming steel…"
