Hazy, because of his violent and aggressive nature, was often paired up with his cousin, Desert Moon. Why? Because Desert was just as violent and Hazy was the only one who could keep up with her attacks.

Sphinx's are predators and since she was born, Desert has fought everyday to keep her strength up and senses keen. When given to anyone else to foalsit, she'd stalk, pounce and hiss at the pony, many too scared to even get close. Hazy is the only pony not scared of her and can counter her strikes with little fear of harming her (sphinx's are tougher than they look). It was this and their shared difficulties with Equestrian culture that made them fast friends.

Note: Desert's mane changes color from night to day. When the sun is up, her mane with black while at night her mane is white. This makes her impossible to miss throughout the day and easy prey to other sphinx's.
