Twilight Sparkle and Spike entered the Tasty Treat with constant haste. They were in a dire mission, or at least, Twilight finds it dire, to return a book she neglected for years. They were to find First Folio to return it and they have indeed found her sitting casually inside the restaurant, with Moondancer accompanying her. As the ponies chatted over the book, Spike gets encountered by a couple of ponies who ordered some food. With not much to do and not wanting to cause a fuss, Spike rolled along, taking orders and delivering them. The owners Coriander and Saffron were confused by the small dragon suddenly helping, but help was help, and they were glad to have him along for the time being.

Seeing Spike so active and persistent in giving the ponies their food, Saffron decided to take a small little break, having some things to do in mind. With Coriander and Spike running things, Saffron got to eating with a stallion all snug and squished in her elegant coils. Nuzzling against the coiled Sketchy, the two proceeded to eat together, Saffron feeding the pony with a spoon held by her tail. Sketchy of course enjoyed the meal, the two ponies soon finishing. Saffron giggled seeing some curry left on his lips, more than happy to clean him up. With a noticeable blush, the unicorn lamia licked his muzzle and lips, getting the leftover curry off him until he was good as new. The coiled Sketchy surely loved it, blushing hard and smiling so gleefully.

With her done licking him and squeezing him, Saffron took the coily cocoon to a soft couch nearby, placing Sketchy in the coil abode on there as she hugged his unwrapped head. They soon snoozed, falling asleep soundly before Saffron was gently nudged by Coriander, the pony needing her assistance now that Spike and Twilight left. Giving a pouty face, Saffron uncoiled Sketchy as she went back to work, leaving the stallion sleeping on the couch. Before she went to work, she gave soft little kiss on his cheek and a lick on his lips. With a soft whisper to his ear, Saffron promises to be back for him before slithering away, the sleepy Sketchy hugging the plush pillow nearby, dreaming of it being the lamia soft and curly mane he was hugging.

Seemed appropriate to post a Saffron doodle, especially at this time for obvious reasons.

((Teeeny tiny spoiler ahead)) In case you didn’t know, the recent episode for MLP ‘The Point of No Return’ brought back the Tasty Treat as one of the locations Twi and Spike had to go to in order to properly return an overdue book. Just seeing that place pop up alone made me jump with excitement, even more when they go inside with all the ponies eating and ordering. The hope of seeing the one and only Saffron Masala show up filled me with glee. Even if she was in the background, it still would have been great to see her again.

She did not appear.

We got Moondancer instead. Not that I’m trying to diss Moondancer fans, I’m glad they got their pone showing again, it's always great to have a one-shot pony or character come back, but come on, it’s the Tasty Treat, the restaurant Saffron and Coriander own and they didn’t bother to have them appear by any means. That left a bit of a dent on the episode for me, because of how much of an obvious opportunity they dodged.

So here’s a Saffy doodle to compensate and make up some headcanon on why she was absent. I was debating on whether to just use a background cap from the show, but I had some time on me, so I drew out the background and colored it in myself.
