Artist's Tidbit: Okay, so me taking my own personal feelings aside and being overly dramatic…again, this was something I've been wanting to do for weeks. As most would not know I am a fan of the Star Wars franchise. My love for it surfaced back in 1998 when I was able to see the original trilogy of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, & Return Of The Jedi. It also got me to play the Rogue Squadron games which I adore so much since I wanted to get back at those Imperial Walkers from the old Atari game of Empire Strikes Back…good times…

One of the things I liked in the series (besides the dogfighting in space) were the lightsaber duels. I've also held this dream of there being someone who was a dual-saber wielder which was realized when Anakin Skywalker very briefly did so in Attack Of The Clones & Revenge Of The Sith (not sure if it was the films that did it first or if it was in the comics).

Last year I missed out on Star Wars Day to do something (Star Wars Day held on May 4 every year), mainly because it slipped my mind & work was a pain. This year while seeing an MLB baseball game that was promoting Star Wars Day it reminded me, so I planned ahead and did this. I could have chosen to have Sunfyre, Wyldfyre, Carapace or even one of my other MLP O/FCs with hands/claws like Gwendolyn, Genette or even Valour Flame, but in the end I chose Cassidy Hawkthorne for 2 reasons: first-because the Jedi classes I searched fitted her so well and the second being she's a skilled close combat fighter…actually she's to be a ninja, but that's beside the point.

I researched the colored sabers when I noticed someone had mentioned on one of NCMares's pics involving Lyra being a Jedi Consular because of the green saber she was wielding. I never noticed that, so I went and looked up the classes with the colored sabers and chose for Cass to have a yellow saber to show she has strength on the Light Side & an orange/amber saber to indicate she is an Negotiator (actually, the Negotiator one I was able to find though it also indicted her use of stealth over combat, I couldn't find the actual name for those who use the rare yellow sabers). The BG's a little bland and I could have done better with my lightsaber hilt work, but in the end I have no complaints.

Lastly, Cass's outfit was taken from a few sources. I recall Captain Celaeno having 'shoulder pads' on her pirate outfit so that helped me, the loincloth was inspired by one of MiniFeru's works of a dual-saber wielder (the pose has inspired me to make something similar for a future pic), and the rest of the outfit I drew inspiration from the 'quote-unquote' common female lizard outfits from the Divinity Original Sin 2 game. There you have it, nothing more for me to say…other than this: May The Forth Be With You…always.
