(Snowflake felt her hooves trembling as she sat beside Twilight on the train back to Ponyville. She hugged the book bag to her tightly, feeling nervous about being around Twilight after committing a crime) Twilight: *notices Snowflake pull her books closer* You know, I'm surprised at you. Snowflake: *flinches a bit* What for? Twilight: I didn't expect you to love books so much, it just goes to show there's still a lot to learn about getting to know ponies. Even after all these years, ponies like you still surprise me. Snowflake: Oh. Well yeah. Life is full of surprises I guess! *laughs trying to hide the nervousness in her voice* Twilight: *smiles and looks out the window* You know, I had a good time today. Once in a while, it's nice to just get away and enjoy a spontaneous trip. Life has been so complicated lately, its important to stop and enjoy the little things. Snowflake: *looks at Twilight* Complicated, how? Twilight: *turns back to her and smiles softly* Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry. Don't worry, everythings alright. It's just some adult stuff, well.. Princess stuff actually. *laughs a bit* Nothing I can't take care of. I hope I didn't worry you. Snowflake: No, I was just curious. I'm not worried. *hugs books tighter* It's like what Gala used to tell me; Everything happens for a reason. Life is full of surprises and unexpected events, but if it's meant to happen, it happens. Twilight: *listens in wonder and then puts her hoof to her chest, smiling* You are so mature for your age. Your parents must be so proud! (The train horn whistles and it draws Snowflake's attention away) Snowflake: Oh! We're here finally! Twilight: Yup. Oh look, there's your dad! *smiles and waves at Bulk Biceps through the window* Snowflake: My dad? I thought mom was picking me up. Twilight: She probably got caught up in something, I'm sure she's fine. *hugs Snowflake* It was really nice to spend time with you today. If you want to come over at all tonight and have me read those to you, feel free to drop by anytime! Snowflake: Thanks Princess, but I wanna read these myself. Really! Twilight: Alright, I get it. *laughs* See you later, Snowy! *kisses her forehead and departs from the train* Snowflake: *sighs in relief knowing she didn't have to hide her nervousness around Twilight anymore and gets off the train* Bulk: My baby girl! *races foreward and pulls Snowflake in tightly, smooshing her face into his pecs* Snowflake: D-Dad! I can't.. I can't breathe! Bulk: Oh, sorry sweet pea! *lets her go and smiles* I missed you so much! Snowflake: I missed you too dad.. So what happened to mom picking me up? Bulk: She has company over. *notices Snowflake's books and reaches hoof out* Let me take your bag- Snowflake: No! *hugs books tight, then thinks quickly seeing her dads concerned look* Uh.. I mean, no. I want to carry it. Um, how can I get big and strong like you if I don't carry my own books? *laughs nervously again* Bulk: *stares at her for a few seconds, then his eyes water and he hugs her again* I AM SO PROUD! Snowflake: Dad! My lungs! -------- (Finally reaching home, Snowflake opens the door slowly, holding the bag under her wing. She pokes her head around the corner into the kitchen and sees her mother sitting at the table) Fluttershy: Oh! Snowflake, you're home! Guest: And just in time for tea! Snowflake: *gasps with a smile but then remembers the book and feels her heart stop for a second* Uh-Uncle Discord! What are you doing here?! Discord: Well I was in the mood for tea, and who better to share a pot with than my favorite family? Besides, your mother makes the best tea! Fluttershy: Oh, Discord. Your tea is really good too! Discord: Oh you flatter me! *creates a mini waterfall of tea into his cup* Care to join us, Snowflake? Snowflake: Um.. Maybe later. I have some reading to do! Discord: *raises an eyebrow and smirks* Well you're missing out, on all this fun~ *gives the sugar cubes wings and has them fly into his cup* Snowflake: I'm sure.. Anyways I'll be in my room if you need me! *speeds to her room, closes the door and lets out a hard breath* Finally.. Safe in my room. *takes out the book again* There has to be something else I'm missing in here. (Snowflake opens the book and keeps reading the chapters on Sombra.) Snowflake: So.. he was brought back by Grogar.. Huh. *sits up and stares at the books words* He brought him back? That's possible? *thinks for a second and then flips rapidly through the book to the info on Grogar* Wow.. that's a big chapter. Alright then.. Just flip through the section in parts I guess. (After about a half hour of flipping, Snowflake found a drawing near the middle of his chapter. Her eyes widened.) Snowflake: "Using this symbol and ancient black magic, Grogar was able to successfully summon creatures from all over the lands.. So powerful in fact, he could even summon those banished to the Aether. This was confirmed during his resurrection of the wicked King Sombra." *stares at the symbol* Ancient black magic.. (Snowflake hears Discord and Fluttershy laughing from downstairs and she feels a click in her brain, but pins her ears down) Snowflake: Discord.. he has ancient chaos magic.. He'll never say yes to this. *looks at the book again and feels an intense grip at her heart* I know this is crazy. I know it doesn't make sense... But this feeling... *she needed to do this, she HAD to. She didn't know why, but she couldn't get rid of the intense feeling she needed to. She stands up and flutters downstairs nervously; pokes her head back into the kitchen* Fluttershy: Oh, sweetie, did you change your mind? Snowflake: Uh, sure! But um.. *flutters up to Discord and whispers in his ear* Can I talk to you in the other room for a second? Discord: Moi? Why so secretive, Snowy? Are you trying to hide something from your dear mother? Fluttershy: *puts down her cup and looks up at Snowflake with concerned eyes* Is everything alright, Snowflake? Snowflake: Yeah! I'm fine! I just, um.. I wanna talk to Uncle Discord for a moment! Please, Uncle Discord? Discord: *sighs but smiles* Fiiine, I suppose we can talk.. But I'm bringing my tea. Snowflake: Uh, sure. *walks nervously into the living room with Discord* Discord: So what's this all about, Snowy? *sips* Snowflake: *hovers up to his face so she didn't have to speak too loudly and rubs her hooves nervously* I.. I was wondering if you could do something for me... Discord: Anything for you, Snowy. What would you like? Snowflake: Well.. I kinda, might involve.. Um.. Your ancient chaos magic? *smiles nervously* Discord: *his eyes narrow in a skeptical look* Oh? Snowflake: Uh-huh.. I know this is going to sound kind of crazy, but- Discord: Stop right there! *puts his finger over her mouth* Clearly, this is not the place to talk about this. Snowflake: *hears the seriousness in his voice and shuts her mouth* But.. I need to talk about this.. And you're the only one who can help me! Discord: …. I don't know, Snowflake. My chaos magic- Snowflake: You said you'd do anything for me, Uncle Discord! Discord: … I did. *sighs* I don't know what this is about, Snowflake. I feel uneasy, but I can see this is important to you. I'll come get you tomorrow, take you to my dimension... We can talk there. Snowflake: Thank you, Uncle Discord! Discord: Now, enough of all this secret mumbo jumo, our tea is getting cold. (Even though she convinced Discord to talk to her, she felt even more nervous than she was before knowing she would have to tell him everything... She took a deep breath and put on a smile, and joined them for tea)
