Just wanted to explore what Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake are like in my next gen universe a bit. Like Flurry Heart, they don't have much personality in the show aside from "baby", so there's a ton of freedom in creating their future personalities and designs. You do have to take their family and setting into account, but aside from that, it's pretty free reigns, so this was a ton of fun

Pumpkin Cake Pumpkin Stitches
Pumpkin grew up to be very confident, mischievous and outgoing. She loves to tease people and joke around, and likes to be the center of attention. This wasn't always the case; as a filly, she was very insecure and often felt a bit out of place. It didn't help that she was among the last to gain her mark, whereas her brother had been among the first. This changed when she did get her mark though, as she really grew into herself, and felt much more secure in knowing what she wanted out of life.

She's fairly short and slightly overweight, being of a similar physique to her mom. She actually looks a lot like her mom; the only thing she seems to have inherited from her dad is her coloration and freckles. She used to keep her mane long and put into elaborate braids by her mom, but cut it short as a teen, and still prefers it that way.

Her talent is actually costume making, suprisingly enough. It took her a while to find; being from a family of all bakers will do that to you, but whe eventually got it one Nightmare Night as she was making costumes for herself and some of her friends. The Cakes wasn't sure what to do with her for a while, but decided to ask Rarity to let Pumpkin apprentice with her; while their talent's aren't exactly the same, there is enough overlap that Rarity could teach her the basics. This is when she also changed her name to Pumpkin Stitches (I headcanon that it's customary for ponies to sometimes change their names to suit their talents, if it doesn't already fit. So they'd either have a "birth name" and a "mark name" or just keep their birth name their entire life)

She currently works part time in Sugarcube Corner (her parents still made sure she knew how to bake some, they did have a reputation to maintain) and partly by taking commissions for cosplays, Nightmare Night costumes and the occasional costume for a local theatre production. It's very sporadic, with a lot of work during the summers and autumn, and not so much during the winter and spring. She's very lucky to have her family, who let's her work at Sugarcube Corner pretty much whenever whe can, which sometimes is full-time and sometimes isn't at all for a while. She hasn't actually gotten any kind of offical education still though, only what Rarity taught her and what she learned from books and talking to other ponies. She's considering getting some kind of degree, and maybe try to get a full time job for a theatre or something, but at the same time, she's kinda happy with the way her life is right now.

Pound Cake
Pound Cake is very steady, calm and generally just content with life. He's a bit goofy, and loves to tease and joke around with his sister; they actually have a bit of a prank war going on since they were five. His favourite type of joke is puns; Pumpkin blames Pinkie.

He is about the same height as his dad, and also gained his freckles as he aged. However, unlike his dad's gangly physique, he is very big and very strong. Mr. and Mrs. Cake were quite old when they had the twins, and were starting to feel their age by the time the twins were teens. As such, Pound and Pumpkin often tried to do a lot of heavy lifting, especially Pound as Pumpkin didn't work in the bakery as much as he did. On top of that, Pound tried to do as many deliveries as he could for the bakery; it's a lot cheaper to buy a small flight-wagon and just do it himself than hire a pegasus-delivery firm. And let's just say, bags of flour aren't exactly known to be light to be carrying around. Mr. and Mrs. Cake had the benefit of being earth ponies, thus having their magic boost their physical strength, but Pound intead just got strong.

His cutie mark is actually… well, it's… …sneaking bites from cakes without anyone noticing. It's either the best or the worst mark to have when working in a bakery, depending on the viewpoint. Also, this technically means that his talent falls into the theft category, which isn't something you want to really advertise. He got it really young, which isn't too suprising considering where he grew up. This talent isn't very useful in a job-situation though, so he still works at Sugarcube Corner and will most likely inherit it from his parents eventually, as Pumpkin has no interest in it. Luckily, despite what some ponies think, you can actually learn to do things without having a talent for them. It just takes interest, the right teachers, and a lot of time. (And to not have something directly hindering you obviously; doesn't matter how much you want to be the worlds greatest natural flier if you don't have wings) All of which he had. He's really good at decorating cakes, and can make the smallest, most intricate details without as much as a tremble of the hoof. Still, he does sometimes worry about the future, and if he'll be able to compete with bakeries run by ponies who has a baking talent.

As mentioned, he currently helps run Sugarcube Corner, alongside his parents and his wife Cream Puff. They got married relatively recently, and has a baby son named Cocoa Puff. Pumpkin likes to look at their wedding photos and joke that Cream Puff's wedding dress was "looking a bit tight around the belly there". Pound absolutely adores Cream and Cocoa, and would do anything for them. He and Cream likes to "teach" Cocoa how to bake, which usually involves him sitting on the floor and covering himself in flour, of which Pound always takes a ton of pictures. They have enough photos of Cocoa covered in flour at this point to fill an entire album. Pumpkin teases him that he's going to end up spoiling the colt rotten, while at the same time creating elaborate, cute costumes for Cocoa to wear and look adorable in. Shut up, she's the aunt, she can spoil him as much as she wants.
