Backstory: Born and raised in Cloudsdale, Violet Moon was just like any other Pegasus. She learned how to fly, competed in race competitions (Though she wasn't interested in those things.), and exercised. At school, Violet Moon had an interest in studying space and science, but she was unsure if she had a potential destiny. It wasn't until one day, when Violet unknowingly had a special power that could potentially change her life forever. Violet was reading a book about telekinesis and psychic abilities, and then took a temporary break from it to see if she could achieve her powers. She tried to concentrate on the book to see if she could levitate it with her mind. Thinking that it wouldn't work, Violet gave up on it and saw the book as if it was nothing. However, later during dinner, when her family was having a conversation that later turned into arguing, Violet got so upset, she shut them up by pounding her hooves on the table, causing the objects on the table to float off of it thanks to her heavy concentration on them during the arguing. After safely putting the objects down, Violet got sent to her room as a punishment for "black magic."

Later as Violet got older, her psychic skills improved greatly. She often used them to ace on tests and quizzes, guessing games, and more. Of course, she kept them a secret from her family because she didn't want them to take her to a laboratory for some tests. At this time, Violet silently struggled with mental health issues, but the only way for her to help these problems is reading, fortune-telling (as a way to give herself some advice), and writing in her journal about what was going on in her life. She was too caught up in her mental health to the point where she pretty much forgot about her friends, family, her surroundings, etc. Eventually, she stopped doing that after discovering that a classmate of hers named Lukas had died from a heart attack.

Remembering him as a friend since Junior Flight School, Violet realized that she had taken Luke for granted and decided to attend his funeral. Before the funeral began, Violet went over to his open coffin to see him, thinking that it would be her last time seeing him. However, thanks to her psychic powers, she was able to bring Luke back to life, causing shock and relief to his family. Therefore, the funeral had been canceled, and ever since the incident, Violet returned her friendship with Luke to avoid making the same mistakes again.

During her friendship with Luke, Violet secretly had feelings for him. But Lukas wasn't her only friend. Throughout her life, Violet had a lot of friends, including Blackbird and Loudmouth. Whenever Luke and Violet weren't together, Violet would do the same things she did for her mental health (fortune-telling, reading, writing) as well as spend time with friends to make sure that she didn't end up feeling lonely. However, on the anniversary of Luke's collapse, Violet was about to reveal her true feelings to Luke when it was he who revealed his feelings to her first. Surprised at this sentiment, she accepted it and they eventually became a couple. They eventually moved to Ponyville together to start a new life.

To this day, Violet is grateful for her psychic powers, and wonders what life would be like without them.
