"This is where MLP FIM REALLY clashes with RnM.

For every brony and MLP FIM fan out there, you immediately recognize the Wonderbolt captain known as Spitfire.

For every Robot and Monster fan and member of the group, you recognize the brash but brave Mechanical known as Spitfire.

Both have the same name…but honestly, I can say sometimes one deserves the name more than the other. And it shouldn't be based on who's hair looks like it's caught on fire.

Okay, that sounded a bit headstrong, but based on the fanart I've seen of the Season 3 episode where Rainbow Dash's dreams begin to come true as well as another appearance of the Wonderbolts, my reaction to seeing Spitfire without her Wonderbolt uniform is the same as when I saw Soarin' without his in the second part of "A Canterlot Wedding":

Yeah, I think I prefer Spitfire to REMAIN wearing her uniform. She looks creepy, especially when angry!

Well, obviously stating my opinion in comparing her and the RnM Spitfire is going to upset some people but at least I'm brave enough to state an opinion. And I'd like to thank my good friend and fellow RnM fan for encouraging me to do so.

Anyway, between the two Spitfires, I'd have to say the RnM wins the battle. Why do I say that?

MLP FIM's Spitfire
Barely makes many appearances in the series.
Not really much of a 'fighter', such as she wasn't even prepared for 'battle' when it came to taking on a fully-grown Spike in "The Secret to My Excess". Seriously, she and her little team just flew off all like 'We did our job. No need to thank us. Laters.' In more pragmatic terms…sometimes I wonder if she's basically just a side character. Even Derpy provides more than she has.
Not really much character development. Sure, she played teacher in Season 3, but she wasn't really that observant. Would it hurt for the creators to draw more 'entirety' into her personality and show her more than just a laid-back mare going on 'total boss'?
Voiced by some woman I don't know.

RnM's Spitfire
Makes a FULL appearance in nearly every episode.
A skilled fighter who, along with her best friend, is a vigilante and takes on robbers and thieves who roam the streets or harm her friends. She would run you over with her wheel. She even takes on the antagonists of most episodes and usually wins.
Personality that shows the entirety of herself: caring but blunt; however, her bluntness is her way of expressing honesty and able to set people straight. Willing to voice her own opinions no matter what, and speaking on someone's behalf.
Voiced by Cree Summer, who voices memorable characters such as Susie Carmichael from Rugrats as well as Numbuh 5 and Cree Lincoln from Codename: Kids Next Door.

Yeah, I'm sorry to anyone who actually took the time to read this, but an opinion is an opinion.

Maybe if Spitfire, the MLP ONE, had more appearances as well as BIGGER roles that could reveal more of what little we know of her personality, maybe I could take some things back. Or maybe I would alter them. I'm sidling up towards the latter.

And most of all…somehow I think Rainbow Dash is too good for the Wonderbolts. A Sonic Rainboom? One of the Elements of Harmony that saved Equestria more times than any licensed mare of stallion could ever do? Being the Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash is like some sort of SUPERHERO. This might reign across every fan's mind: why didn't those blasted Wonderbolts BEG her sooner?

Again, I would like to thank my friend for being there and encouraging me to not only make this piece but also voice what I think is best. No doubt some people will disagree with me, but what are shows without disagreements? We can't ALL show favor for the same characters, let alone the same ponies.

It's kind of like when I compared Robot to Princess Luna on who is the bigger 'Nightmare Moon' [link]

To me, the true Spitfire is the one with the revved-up engine and sleek appearance, and a personality that almost reminds me of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.
