Sorry this took me so long to get to you, guys. I think I've caught a cold and have been trying to finish writing my notes since like 10:30 am. I'm so glad I pushed through and get to submit this today. Enjoy!

Sugar Belle

Born to a semi-wealthy family in Canterlot, Sugar Belle grew up with everything she could have ever wanted. She was the middle child of a rather large group of foals and because of it, tended to be looked over by her parents. In fact, none of the children were terribly close to their parents. They were all raised by high-class nannies, having to depend on them for guidance and affection while their parents tried to move up the social ladder by attending charity events and dinners.

Not connected to her parents at all, Sugar Belle decided to strike it out on her own once she was old enough. Her parents shrugged her to the side, giving her a purse full of bits and waved her away to go on her own adventure. They knew once she tired of limited means, she would come back to continue living life their way.

Not used to having only so much to live off of, Sugar Belle squandered it away and soon had nothing. She found herself in a small village, where she offered to bake for cheap in order to live there. Everything seemed fine there. The ponies were nice enough and for the first time, she was able to earn her money instead of just having it immediately.

Sugar Belle made friends with the town’s mayor, Starlight Glimmer, and the two became close. Starlight claimed she understood how Sugar felt, wanting to be on her own after her friends and family let her down. They constantly talked about their struggles and one day, Starlight made a comment about how she wished everyone could be as understanding and kind as Sugar Belle. She said, like Sugar’s parents, ponies only cared about bettering themselves and becoming great through their cutie mark talents. Sugar Belle, now trusting Starlight completely, agreed. They joked about how they would take away everyone’s cutie marks and the world would be better for it. A few weeks later, Starlight came to Sugar Belle with a theory of how their joke could actually become a reality. While Sugar was hesitant, she wanted to humor her friend and see if their theory would actually work. Starlight performed the cutie mark spell on Sugar and her cutie mark vanished, now replaced by a dull equal sign.

After the spell, color seemed to drain out of the town. Sugar Belle noticed that baking wasn’t as fun as it used to be and her food, which was normally quite tasty, turned flavorless. However, the more people that followed Sugar Bell’s decision to remove her cutie mark, the happier the town seemed. Everyone could connect with one another on a deeper level and had nothing to make them different from any other pony in the village.

Life seemed great in Starlight’s Village, until the outside world found them. When Princess Twilight and her friends came to solve whatever friendship problem the map summoned them for, the townsponies suddenly grew interested in the colorful mares, especially Sugar Belle. She saw friendship in them that held strong even with their different interests and talents. It had been so long since she had seen cutie marks, so she didn’t hesitate when she had a chance to see them up close.

Once the spell was broken, Sugar Belle had never been more grateful to have her cutie mark. Her baking quickly became top-notch again and she loved getting to know her friends, for real this time. Now that their village was on the map for the first time, Sugar started looking to other towns for supplies and assistance in Starlight’s sudden absence. Remembering that Applejack loved talking about Sweet Apple Acres whenever she visited, Sugar Belle decided to start ordering produce from them for her baking. That’s when she met Big Mac.

Big Mac couldn’t help but instantly fall for the pink unicorn when he started making regular deliveries to Starlight’s Village. She would occasionally gift him with a pie or pastries to thank him for traveling so far and since she wasn’t interested in any of the stallions in the village, started flirting with him. The two seemed to hit it off and their relationship progressed, especially after Feather Bangs attempted, and failed, to woo Sugar Belle.

Every time the two saw each other, their feelings only seemed to grow stronger. That is until Big Mac assumed that Sugar Belle was planning to break up with him and decided to speed the process along. The two made up rather quickly, but seemed to have more and more misunderstandings the longer they were together. They didn’t seem to have the proper communication for a relationship and constantly bickered over anything and everything.

The two agreed it would be best if they didn’t continue seeing each other since all they seemed to do was fight and make up before fighting again. By the time Sugar Belle realized she was pregnant, Big Mac had already started seeing Marble Pie. Bitter and upset and having no interest in having children, Sugar sent her ex a long letter telling him that he could either take the baby or she would get rid of it. She was more interested in continuing her career as a baker, especially after being held in the village and wasting a good portion of her life without being able to hone her skills. Big Mac agreed to take the baby and raise it alone, always wanting to have a large family of his own.

Sugar Belle was well provided for during her pregnancy by Big Mac, and once she gave birth to Cherry Blossom, never looked back. She keeps no contact with her daughter or Big Mac and instead focuses on her career.

Marble Pie

As the youngest daughter of four, Marble Pie wasn’t only babied by her mother but by her sisters as well. She enjoyed the attention and affection from her immediate family but tended to be severely timid and anti-social to anyone outside that circle. Fortunately, she had a twin to speak up for her and Pinkie Pie has no problems doing it even as adults.

Any doctor or psychologist would diagnose Marble with extreme social anxiety and selective mutism, but her parents don’t believe in such things. To them, she’s just their shy daughter.

After Pinkie Pie left to move to Ponyville and pursue a career as a party pony, Mable missed her twin terribly. She wrote letters to Pinkie constantly, wanting to know everything that was going on in her life. Meanwhile, Marble learned the ways of her parent’s business in rock farming and figured she’d just hold onto the family’s traditional way of life. After all, she would never speak up against it. She barely spoke at all.

Once Pinkie introduced the Apple and Pie families to each other, Marble developed a small crush on Big Mac. She quickly shook it out of her mind, knowing there was a chance that their families were distantly related. After a while, Applejack and Pinkie Pie finally found the documents they had been looking for, only to discover that they were in fact not related in any way. Regardless of their discovery, the two families still spend the holidays together and greatly enjoy each other’s company.

When Big Mac broke up with Marble Pie, it ended up being right before the holidays. Applejack explained to Pinkie what had happened, which means Pinkie quickly told the rest of her family not to ask any questions about Sugar Belle anymore. Marble felt her heart flutter. Although she was sad that Big Mac seemed heartbroken during the holidays, she was glad that she had a chance to spend time with him without having to worry about Sugar Belle. Marble tried her best to cheer him up during the holiday, wanting him to know that he had his family and hers to keep him company even though he was feeling alone.

After a while, Marble and Big Mac decided to start dating. This time, the stallion took things slow. He didn’t want his relationship with Marble to be as rushed and head-over-hooves infatuation like his previous one with Sugar Belle. The two wrote letters to each other and would send care packages while they were apart, working on separate farms. When they did have a chance to be together, they would walk around Sweet Apple Acres or the Pie’s rock farm in comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other’s company.

Once Big Mac learned that he had gotten Sugar Belle pregnant, he made sure not to make the same mistake of lacking communication with Marble. He was immediately honest with her and told her he would understand if she wasn’t interested in being in a relationship with a stallion who had a child. While Marble was hurt, she was glad that he had been honest with her. Even though her father, Igneous, told her to not associate herself with such a lustful sinner, she agreed to stay with him and take things one step at a time.

The moment Marble met Cherry Blossom, she absolutely fell in love. She was more than happy to help Big Mac raise her whenever she wasn’t working on her father’s farm and made sure to try and spend as much time with them as possible. While Cherry wasn’t hers biologically, Marble treated her as though she were her own daughter and gave her all the love she could ever want.

Marble and Big Mac got married when Cherry was about a year old and after that, planned on having a large family. Both were used to having multiple siblings and wanted the same thing: to have their own little herd of foals. Once Cherry was around 2 or 3, the twins were born. After that came Cloudy Cortland, then Cameo Quartz, and then Pippin. They are a large but happy family, having all they could ever need as long as they have each other.
