Heyo! So sorry for disappearing off the face of the earth for the past week or so- I'd been having really bad issues with my computer. Ended up getting a new one! It works really well and I'm super happy with it

I'm also away due to academic-related reasons, and art will be slow for the next few months. I have a hectic schedule ahead of me :') Also haven't drawn pones in forever, and my anatomy is pretty rough. Daring's head is way too big here, but oh well hah

Headcanon notes below!

- Daring Do, better known under her pen name AK Yearling, lives in an isolated part of the forest. She keeps hundreds of prized artifacts stowed away in her small cabin, protecting them from the greedy hooves of Caballeron and his henchponies. While she does have the world's best interests at heart, she fails to realize that many of these artifacts are heavily protected for a reason.

Sure, she might be keeping them away from those who have bad intentions, but she's also exposing herself to a variety of different curses by keeping the items within her living space.


- Sometimes, the artifacts that she keeps stowed away start acting out. They seem to have a mind of their own… and for years, that scared AK. She'd simply have to put up with it until the Mane 6 learned her secret. Then, once a month, Twilight would perform a ritual on the cabin to "cleanse" it and keep the artifacts at bay. Since Twi eventually couldn't make time for the monthly visits as frequently, she put a spell in a jewelry item that's aura can last for a few years. The aura, although sometimes less effective, works just as well as the monthly cloak did.


- Ahuizotl is part of a species closely related to draconequus. His duty, similar to sphinxes, is to protect the artifacts from leaving their temples. Daring is very, very experienced, though, and manages to slip past him almost every time.


- Daring's been doing her job since she can remember. She makes most of her profit from her books, which she decided to write to share her story. Before Daring felt she owed a duty to the forest and its artifacts, she always wanted to be a journalist. Writing books is as close to she'll ever get to that dream.


- I never really liked how Daring Do was a carbon copy of Rainbow Dash, design wise. It bothered me that the two were just color-picks of each other. So I tried to give her a different look here, with shorter, sharper hair and a more muscular figure. Rainbow Dash is probably a little taller than her, and slimmer. Daring is also much older than the rest of the Mane 6, probably around the same age as Starlight and Sunburst, who are about 10-15 years older than the Mane 6.


- Daring Do is a True Pegasus, meaning she is descended from only Pegasi. Not a single earth pony or unicorn gene is in her blood.


- She's extremely muscular from the amount of physical work she does. She also has a gym in her basement, where she regularly trains.

Couldn't really think of much for Daring, but she's one of my favorite characters (: I grew up hearing her voice, since her voice actress voiced a lot of different characters in a bunch of movies I used to watch Hope you like my interpretation of her!
