Shelter was the most sound of the three when it came to her feelings. She was always one to love and be loved, so when the thought came upon her that she had feelings for both of the stallions in her life she didnt think too much of it. Even though she was quite flustered herself. However, the boys didn't take it as well.

Which is what brought them here.

The three sat together in pin-dropping silence, the tension so thick you could cut it with one of Shelter’s scalpels. This went on for a good few minutes before Phil coughed awkwardly.

"So…how have you two been?"

“I’ve been well, Philly, but I’m not sure about you two. Is there something we should talk about?” Shelter batted her eyes slightly, but enough for Phil to notice as he grimaced in embarrassment.

“Oh god, I can’t take it anymore!” Minstrel Custard exclaimed.

“What can’t you take?” Phil asked.

“This!” He gestured towards both of them. “All of us together! When is someone gonna come out and say it? I’m sick and tired of having to pretend I don’t love you both-“

Minstrel clapped a hoof over his mouth, the other two staring at him in stunned silence.

“Thank god, I’m not the only one,” Shelter chuckled, a hot blush growing on her face.

“What?” Minstrel asked.

“Yes, what?” Phil reiterated.

“You know I love you with all my heart, Minny. But Phil…I also love you too. Just as much. I know it’s not right, but I can’t help how I feel.”

“And Minstrel, you feel the same way?” Phil turned to the unicorn stallion. “Those displays of affection to me, were they more than just playful banter? Did they actually mean something to you?”

“Of course they did! Would I really show you my ass for nothing?”

“Well no, but…you’re in a relationship, Minstrel. Continuing to flirt with your past lover like this is significantly risky. Any other mare would accuse you of disloyalty and I would be caught in an uncomfortable situation. Did you really think this was a good idea?”

“Is anything I do a good idea?” Minstrel huffed. “I couldn’t help it, so I did it. That’s that. If you want to kick us out and never let us see you or Poison Sweets again, that’s fair.” But he frowned as he said this.

“No, I wouldn’t do that. I…I would hate to shut out the two ponies I look forward to seeing the most,” Phil said with a blush.

“So you like us too!” Shelter grinned.

“Yes, but I shouldn’t,” Phil insisted. “I would be intruding on your relationship if I pursued either of you…or both of you. It simply isn’t right.”

“It’s not intruding if we both want you too!” Shelter rebutted. “And who cares if it’s ‘right’ if we love each other? What’s so wrong with that?”

“I suppose so,” Phil conceded.

“So…are we gonna be a threesome?” Minstrel piped up.

“If you boys want to be,” Shelter smirked.

Both stallions blushed and murmured in agreement as Shelter swept them both into hugs, all finally more relaxed and happy now that their feelings are out. But there was one thing left on Shelter’s mind.

“Minny?”

“Yeah?”

“I think this is the first time I’ve heard you actually say you love anyone. Did that cold, dead heart you say you have grow three sizes bigger? I knew you had feelings in there!”

“Dammit.”
