So if you follow me on any of my social media, you'd have learned by now that I ship Starlight and King Sombra… But also Radiant Hope and Sombra. You'd also know that I designed Sombra and Starlight a kid for the fun of it. Unfortunately, I loved him.

General info on Blacklight:

Background:

"How did Sombra and Starlight even get together in the first place?"

Well, you see, I hated how things went in the premier so I've decided to ignore the outcome. Through a long winded list of events I won't list here, Sombra goes through a very dramatic redemption. Starlight has a big role in helping him, feeling like she can empathize with what he's done, since her crimes were somewhat similar to his. If anybody cares to know I might go over that later.

With that out of the way, on to Blacklight. He more or less grew up in Twilight's castle (Now under the ownership of Starlight), usually staying home with Sombra since Starlight would often be busy with the school and any duty Princess Twilight may have for her other than that.

I don't… Really have much on his early childhood. I guess it wasn't particularly eventful.

It's not until he's a bit older he learns that, being a temporal paradox, he can time travel. A series of events and two occasions of nearly wiping his own existence, Blacklight learns it's not as great as he thought. These events were not what gave him his cutie mark however. No, that was a different trip to the past, over 1000 years ago, when Blacklight did something that would change everything as he knew it… Not necessarily for the worst, but certainly not for his best.

I mean, how many ponies can say they brought their father's first love to the present time and not ruin the timeline as it's known?

Personality:

Being the offspring of two former villains, a powerful unicorn and a fear controlling Umbrum, Blacklight is exactly what you'd expect out of such a coupling, a nervous, anxious, mess.

He learned pretty young that his parents were not always good ponies, especially his father, who at the time was still forbidden from entering the Crystal Empire. It gave Blacklight some pretty bad anxiety that he might end up evil too, especially with his natural ability to control shadow magic. He didn't end up leaving the castle much, and didn't really make any friends other than his parents for the longest time. Not even the friendship school or some private time with the Princess of Friendship herself helped. He was just far too anxious, and too scared of hurting someone.

It took him a very long time to begin talking to others, and an even longer time to make any meaningful relationships. Perhaps once I've made some more characters I can elaborate on his story.
