Here's the first pic of a new mlp AU I have been thinking about. The basics of the AU is that the mane six are all different creatures (the same ones as the mlp villains in canon) and that all the villains are ponies, and how that would affect how the story would play out and what Equestria is like.Here are the first few villains to be ponyfied (plus dragon Cozy Glow) Sombra is King of Equestria after having overthrown a decade previous. He fills the role of Celestia and Luna. He used to be a unicorn geologist when he stumbled across a hidden treasure chamber in one of the caves he was excavating. In the chamber he found the Alicorn amulette. After discovering the powers it granted him he was unable to let it go and was driven mad with power. After long term exposure of the amulette he sprouted wings and got the same kind of flowy mane as the royal sisters have. He rules Equestria with a iron fist and makes his subjects cater to his every whim.

He enforces that every type of pony keep to their own and do their assigned task, earth ponies work the land, unicorns are seen as scholars and pegasi handle the weather. There are exceptions to this rule whenever a pony proves valuable enough to serve other purposes. Crossbreeds aren't entirely uncommon but are often frowned upon.

Sombra himself is very flamboyant and fickle. His ego is through the roof and he won't hesitate to show of or silence those who doubt his powers.
He doesn't have any interest in any kind of partner as he sees everypony as being beneath him, instead he keeps a small harem that he switches out frequently.

Lady Crystal Gleam or Chrysalis as she prefers to be called is a highly manipulative and selfish mare acting as the mad kings advisor. She is the one who has managed to keep the position the longest and is considered one of the few ponies the king trusts. She knows just what to say to get what she wants and uses it at any given opportunity.

She also controls a small group of specially trained spies acting on behalf of the king to fish out any potential traitors amongst their people. All residents of Equestria knows of this special force and so barely any dare talk ill of the king in fear that they are being watched.

Last ones are the royal wizard Lord Tirek and his assistant Cozy Glow. Tirek is Sombra's court wizard and potion maker. He has been around since before king Sombra took over the kingdom and is a opportunist who does whatever is most beneficial for himself. He is a crossbreed between an earth pony and a unicorn and is the only one with such high ranking authority. His incredible size as well as his proficiency in magic strikes fear in many and there are rumors about him having killed his own brother with his bare hooves, a rumor which he neither confirms nor denies.

Cozy Glow became his assistant after he accidentally hatched her from an egg he had intended to use for a potion. Cozy Glow loves Tirek and loves helping out around the lab and earned the title of assistant fairly quickly. Tirek would never admit to anyone outside the lab that he he actually enjoys her company but does occassionally dote on her whenever the two are alone like a protective parent. Whenever Cozy is away from Tirek she enjoys causing mischief and misfortune for all the other ponies in the castle. She may look sweet but she is a little devil to anyone that isn't Tirek.

So yeah those are the first of the villains, I've sketched the mane six so will hopefully get around to finishing them as well soon-ish. I'm having a lot of fun with this AU. Equestria is a very different place which is fun to explore.
