The fact that the Student Six were first shown next to a suggestion that MLP:FiM will have an ending, makes me think of the Student Six as the harbingers of doom.
And here they are, watching Equestria's final sunset before its possible dissolution. At least Gallus and Silverstream, the chickens in love, fulfilled their dream to be with each other as shadows flood the land.
