If there's any one thing that I can say about this…well…two things….is that there's still several mistakes I see but I honestly don't have any more patience left in me to fix them. I've lost count of how many times I "finished" this piece and then went back to change more things. And the second thing is that sketching on toned paper makes it much trickier to color it in afterwards. I ended up using something close to the layers or something.
That said, the toned paper does help as a sort of "halftone" almost. It almost creates the effect of a warm light. So I guess I'll stick with it for now.
This is probably the first digital piece I've done where I genuinely feel proud about it. The hair came out pretty good, I'm really happy with the lighting, and the eyes actually look decent.
